Kicks

what makes your baby kick???
I just started feeling him and he kicks me tons of times then stops then does it then stops! What triggers your baby to kick you?

Re: Kicks

  • Eating, anytime I lay down to sleep, DS laying his head on my stomach, taking a shower or bath, and any other slight change. I'm hoping that this isn't a sign of a finicky baby.

  • Multiple things for mine. When I eat sweetarts, when we listen to certain songs, and then my little girl punches and kicks randomly all day long
  • Eating for sure. Any time I start to calm down for the night she does back flips for about two hours.

  • Food, laying down, cold water, loud noises, my h talking, dogs barking
  • Sparkling water and eating! :-)
  • This little guy feels like his practicing to be a punter because he kicks me all the time. I feel him more when I'm laying down, but eating and drinking also spur him on. He also loves to make sure I know he's there at random times throughout the day.

  • Our baby girl is quite random. She will sometimes liven up after I eat, or when I'm sitting for a minute, or even when I'm trying to sleep. She has a penchant for tenderizing my bladder, soccer kicking my rectum, and sucker punching the air out of my diaphragm. Honestly, I don't know what sets her off on her tantrums, I wish I did though. Night before last she spent a good half hour just going bonkers inside my stomach while I was trying to get comfy enough to sleep, like a full on temper tantrum!

  • I havnt noticed anything consistent. He did start jumping around a few times when the cat was lying next to my belly purring.
  • When my son talks When I'm sitting for long periods of time ( at work) or just when he wants to let me know he's there
  • Mine isn't too active but he likes to let me know he doesn't like it when I lay on my stomach.
  • My girl is only active at certain points in the day; 5-8am, noonish and typically anywhere from 8-11pm. I haven't found anything that sets her off. Although I wish I could. She's all crazy in there and when I get DH to get his hand on my belly she stops. She's being a brat! Just want him to start to feel her more, she is just not cooperating.
  • Baby girl is pretty random too with her movements, although it's typically when it's time to eat (like she's telling me she's hungry), and when I'm sitting or lying down. Last night when I got in bed, she started moving around like crazy and her movements are getting much stronger. :)
  • Every night between 8-10, after I eat/drink, and recently when my dh puts his hand on my tummy, it's so adorable she kicks right away!

  • When I lay on my back, especially at night, when hubby reads to him, and in the morning when I drink coffee (half caff)... not sure if its the heat or the caffeine?? I love to feel him wiggle. :-)

  • He's definitely got a cycle. He's always active at night and lays low during the day. After I eat or drink he'll usually wiggle around .. And I can get him to move if I poke at him which I'm sure is him saying "mom leave me alone!" Haha

  • Another one for (almost) constant movement. I've even been woken up at night by the movement. Oddly enough, the only time my LO seems pretty calm is when I'm working out or on one of our after dinner family walks or bike rides.

  • I don't think anything triggers it, but she has a cycle. Kicks in the morning, around 9am. Then intermittent throughout the day. She gets active right before I go to sleep, then settles down.

Except for today. She's been kicking the ever-loving hell out of me all day. I have no idea what I did to tick her off.
Awaiting our bundle of cute chaos.

  • He moves a ton when I am settling down after dinner on the couch. That is when I feel his hardest and most frequent kicks. He also gets moving when i drink my morning juice or milk :)

  • Laying down, when I sit hunched over (that makes him super finicky), when I eat..... Those are the times I notice him most. Yesterday was the first day I noticed him move when I was standing up.....
