Nipple pain is sticking around. And my supply is limping along. It takes forever to get a let down. It dropped so quickly after my BFP, I'm wondering if I should prepare myself for it to completely go away soon, too? I really would prefer to keep nursing my DD, and I think she's not ready to wean, too.

Any thoughts? Advice?

Usually, I'm all about KitKats. Not so much with m/s hanging about. Least favorite would probably have to be smarties.

Hi ladies!

1) 8wks today

Need to fix ticker when I'm not mobile....

2) 15mos this week! Crazy.

3) My supply had dipped but I swear it's actually increased over the last few days? Baby has been nursing a little more because he had a cold but my left breast that was pretty much done seems to be filling again? So there may be hope yet for your supply, @NoeliaV‌

No pain or aversions right now either. Fingers crossed for smooth sailing...

4) Not this week... Might need some weaning advice soonish. But not yet.

GTKY) Thanks to my serious sweet tooth this pregnancy, I'll take all the candy, thank you. I guess if I haaaaad to pick a least favorite, I would say Peanut m&ms. Most favorite might be butterfingers. Today. Could change tomorrow.

My H loves butterfingers. In fact, I found a bag in our pantry this morning, which inspired today's GTKY :P

FX that my milk will keep limping along, then. Thanks! We only nurse in the morning, to bed and at night wakings, so I don't have too much hope that there'll be some big increase of demand on her part at this point.

My DD likes to press her feet into my belly/bladder/upper thighs while we nurse lying down. She always has. It's like a kitten kneading, lol.

3. Any supply issues, pain, nursing aversion? Not really. Kind of hoping my supply starts to drop soon bc Im feeling somewhat done with nursing lately, but Isaac is NOT. THinking if my supply crashes that might help get him to wean, at least a bit. He nurses 3x a day, Id like to be at 1.

4. Any questions for the group? Does anyone else's child like to kick at their uterus ( or bladder) while side nursing? Yeah, isaac is all over the place! contorts himself, kicks, twists… sigh.

Supply drops etc: with my second pregnancy, my supply dropped some around late 1st tri but didn't go dry till 20w. I got colostrum in around 26/7. My son nursed until one month before Isaac was born, he weaned himself then. Some women do not lose their supply completely too!

3) Nipples are sensitive when nursing.
4) The past few days my boobs don't seem to be as sore. Does anyone feel that they are less sore than the first pregnancy. And I have tenderness with nursing, but otherwise ok. We saw hb on ultrasound but of course not having boob pain has me nervous.
5) Twix is my fav, but really any chocolate will do. Last favorite is good n plenty. ... what kid eats those? ;-)

I don't think I had much breast tenderness with my first pregnancy, but I really don't have any with this one. Now the nipple pain? Owwww. Congrats on seeing the heartbeat on u/s!

Hi ladies! I'm happy to see this here.

3. Any supply issues, pain, nursing aversion? I think my supply has gone down a little. My breasts don't seem to get as full as they used to, but DD has also been nursing like crazy ever since I became pregnant, so it could just be that she is continually emptying them. My nipples are a little sore and she seems to dig her teeth in a bit now. I'm not sure what that's about.

4. Any questions for the group? What are your weaning plans? Will you let it happen naturally, move it along later on in the pregnancy, tandem nurse when the new baby comes? For now I am fine continuing nursing and if it continues to go well I could see myself tandem nursing.

GTKY: What's your favorite and least favorite Halloween candy? I don't really like candy that much, but when I used to trick-or-treat I loved Sweet Tarts. I don't really like chocolate so that would be my least favorite.

3. My nipples are so, so sore. Omg. But he still loves my boobs just as much. I really hope perhaps it will taste different and he will wean himself. I've noticed a significant supply drop.
4. How do you wean? Like how? I tried just telling him 'no' and he went crazy and it broke my heart. I don't want to tandem nurse. I realize that's a long way away, lol.
GTKY: I love all the candies!!!!!!!! But esp snickers and Reese's pb cups. But I don't discriminate. Lol

I wanted to empathize because my DD gets mad at my boobs for being empty. The other day she bit me twice! Once, likely on accident/out of frustration, but the second time on purpose. We both cried.

Ugh. Anyway, I would say that your DD's latch/teeth could be due to the decreased supply.

That's what I've been doing for awhile now, problem is that he loves boobs. Lol if he's still nursing in 5 months when he turns 2, I will be more forceful. I guess. I don't know. But thank you for the welcome

Hi ladies! Just got my BFP Monday!

I had some pain last week, but seems to be all better now. LO has actually been nursing lime a newborn again.

4. Any questions for the group?
Any tips on cutting down on night feedings. She wakes every 1-2 hours and I don't think I'll be able to handle it once the fatigue kicks in.

GTKY: What's your favorite and least favorite Halloween candy?

Probably Reese peanut butter cups. I have to have my peanut butter!!!

DS cries (a very little bit) that it's all gone when he nurses, I feel like my nipple is moderately sunburned, and I get nauseous when DS starts nursing. He cries when I wince - I have to tell him it's not his fault, Mommy's just changing, which calms him down (he lets out a little whimper and uses my chest as a pillow when I say that. Poor sweetheart.)

4. Any questions for the group? Answering another's. I planned on weaning by 20 weeks, but it's going far faster than anticipated.

Stuck in the box. Offer sippy cups of milk (I do vanilla almond milk) or a favorite snack whenever he asks to nurse. Shorten the amount of time he nurses at each setting (detach him instead of waiting for him to do it.) Tell him your boobs need to rest. Increase non-nursing cuddles. Peppermint supposedly also decreases supply (peppermint tea is good for nausea.)

1. Around 5w5d 2. 2.5! I never thought I would nurse so long but DS is a boob addict 3. Nursing aversion like woah. I had been trying to wean him in the hopes it would help me get pregnant, and around when I got my BFP I started to dread nursing. It's hard to explain, but as soon as he would latch on, I would want to throw him across the room. It was especially bad because he was used to nursing to sleep and again during wake ups at night and halfway thru his nap. I cut that out and it's much easier to nurse him for just a minute or two and be done. I am ready to be done nursing and I think he will be done very soon. I will be relieved and sad at the same time. 4. I'm glad to see someone else breast aren't sore, I was worried about that. Mine don't hurt at all, I think maybe because they are already in use. 5. Anything with chocolate! Especially snickers. Hate candy corn. Gross! ETA: attempted to add paragraphs!

For weaning, offering snacks or drinks instead of nursing help with Isaac now. Also distraction, and 'not now but we will at naptime!' And move on to something else. Overnights sucks. Night weaning was so tough! He still doesn't even Sttn consistently. For me I night weaned starting with setting a time frame where we wouldn't nurse, and slowly expanded it, it was hard. I'd sing, rock him, snuggle... There were tears. I didn't leave until he was asleep again though. Dh was super helpful and would go in and get him down more easily... With me he was like 'nurssssssse' but with him it was like 'oh, you? Ok' rolls over back to sleep lol. Also make sure you are confident that he isn't waking up legit hungry. Sometimes we offered water to Isaac. Sometimes even still he gets a 4:45 snack of dry Cheerios in bed!

Supply has dropped A LOT since I stopped pumping at work but I think I might start again to up the supply. I'd like to keep going. I don't think DS is ready to wean.
I'm still having some pain especially with the initial latch. After some time it goes away. However, I noticed that if he falls asleep while nursing it starts to hurt again. It's like I can feel his teeth.

4. Any questions for the group?
Does anyone here pump? How is it going?
Are there any supplements I can take while pregnant to increase my supply?

I'm kind of on the fence about pumping again 'cause it's not my favorite thing. So I'm curious to see how it's going for those who do.

Favorite: any chocolate with caramel or peanut butter. I'll even take chocolate with both!

@noeliav When did your supply dip? She's already dropped down to one nap a day and it's like pulling teeth to try and get a second. I wanted to nurse until she was at least two, but with now being pregnant and dealing with constant night nursing it may end sooner. I've been wanting to get my DH more involved with night waking, but his work schedule is all over the place for us to make consistent changes for her. We cosleep too, so that is also making it difficult, however, I've been trying for the past week to get her in her own bed and I'm hoping that will get us going in the right direction.

I didn't realize you were doing a BF check-in too? I took this over from our first check-in mama who had her loss

Anyway, I was pumping still when I got my BFP but this is the first week I'm not pumping at all. My boobs just stopped responding to it, so it was wasted effort. We'll still work through my freezer stash to get her to 2years for her milk at DC, and then it will be all directly sourced after that

The only things I can think of that would be safe supplements are oatmeal and (maybe) brewer's yeast. Have you ever tried lactation cookies? If your MW or OB gave the okay on the brewer's yeast, then maybe try those?

My supply dropped around 4 or 5 weeks? I really noticed it, though, when trying to pump at work last week. Now my let down takes forever, so I think it's even less this week (7w). My DD was still taking 2 naps on the weekends (she's in DC M-F) at that age, which is why I (hopefully) asked. We also bed share, but now only after her first waking.

3. Sore nipples. The latching hurts so much now, the pain has been increasing with each feed. Once he's on, it's ok though. I don't remember my nipples beig sensitive at all last time (however I wasn't nursing anyone last time..)
4. I've been trying to not offer, not refuse for naps. I don't think the bedtime session will be going anywhere anytime soon. That being said, my milk production has dropped to the point where I don't feel my let down anymore, so I suppose I could dry up completely and that could put a stop to nursing all together.

@honeybunches101‌ That's called nursing aversion and is actually a completely normal part of nursing while pregnant. I'm part of a fb bf group and a large majority of moms have this. For me it happens in 2-3 trimester. The feeling of just wanting to throw them off you, gritting your teeth while nursing and dreading each session. Perfectly normal and it gets better!

Thank you for the info. I'm sorry it took me a few days to reply. That does make sense that she'd be mad about the supply. It's unfortunate because I wanted to breastfeed her for at least 18 months and possibly even throughout the pregnancy and beyond, but I don't know if I can handle the uncomfortable latch for that long.

I sometimes find it hard to get back to the board, too. This past week my nipple soreness has been a bit less, so maybe there's some relief around the corner for you too? At least, it wouldn't add to the odd latch issues.
