Not really 3T related amazon was hacked!!!

I Get an email this morning saying "Thank you for updating your email" From amazon and I'm sitting here thinking I didn't change anything. I called the hubs he didn't change anything either. I was thinking well it's a scam, the email wants me to click the link in it and verify my info and then they will take all my info. So instead I go online using the work computer and tried to long in using m old email and password and it doesn't' work! I start freaking out! I have my credit and debit info on there!!! And the email it changed to was something completely random and not an email the hubs or I would ever use! I sent amazon an email to the security website and filed a formal complaint. I am still waiting to hear back from them! I used the strange new email and my old regular password and it actually let me in. So I changed the email and I changed the password to something STUPID long and upper case, lower case letters with numbers and punctuations! Has any one else ever had this happen? Do you think I should send an email to the email amazon said I changed to? I am so WORRIED. I called the bank and let them know they are on alert but thankfully I don't have to turn my card off unless something funky happens. And if it does I am covered 100% for any fraudulent charges. Any advice would be SOOOO helpful thanks so much!

Thanks for the warning! My account looks fine, thankfully. Our Sears points account was hacked and a couple hundred $ of points stolen (luckily Sears gave it back to us), and someone bought and then returned things from our Target account connected to a credit card during the whole Target hacking fiasco (that was scary!).

Hubs had his ID stolen. Someone stole a WHOLE bunch of info from an office on a military base, the military is now paying for that Life Lock thing for him for life. Thankfully nothing ever happened we were told in time and they gave all the info on what we need to do if anything ever shows up hinky! We don't shop at target but I couldn't believe how messed up all of that was!!! I'm so sorry! =[

It wasn't even on my mind. It's where I buy all of my OPK strips (Normally) But I haven't been on in the last cycle since I just had surgery. I've been using the digy tests, which were alright but I plan on going back to the cheap strips! It was out of the blue I had an email saying thanks for the update and had the new email listed and I'm thinking that looks nothing like what I or my husband would use as an email... I deleted all my debit info off our online account too just to be safe.

I will check mine; thanks! I had fraud on my credit report a couple months ago (fake collection agency or something? Experian got rid of it) so now they have to call and verify if anyone tries to put anything on our credit (we don't use anything involving debt). That should stop most issues, but it's still so frustrating.

hahah! @bluefairy5 I think I love you! =] I am REALLY anal about our money! The hubs had TONS of debt when we got married his credit was like a 420! I busted my hump fixing everything!!! he now has a 620! so I will NOT let ANYTHING put those numbers at risk! We FINALLY qualify to get a home loan and we can stop renting!

update on being hacked! I got an email from amazon saying "We think your account has been compromised so we have locked the account and reversed any changes with in the last 30 days." So I'm thinking I JUST got it fixed JUST changed the email I caught it before they did! I took all my info off the account all my debit and credit cards off the account and they reversed all of that -_- NOT FREAKING HAPPY!!!! Super pissed and they said I can't do anything to change it the account it locked and their investigation team is looking into it! So now I just have to wait till is crap!
