Carpal tunnel??

So apparently you can develope carpal tunnel while being pregnant! I was very scared by the symptoms at first! I thought my blood wasn't circulating to my baby and had a few very restless nights... I was suprise to find out that's what it was and also suprised I wasn't aware this was something that happens! Anyone else experience this??

you thought that a condition in your wrists/hands would prevent your blood from circulating to your baby?

  • Had it with the first, wore a splint or brace from time to time, went away shortly after delivery.  Have it again with this pregnancy, but very minor.

Very common complaint of pregnancy, not as much as morning sickness but yeah, a lot of us have it too.

I am confused how you thought wrist pain meant poor circulation to your baby though.

Feeling numb in the extremities can be a symptom of poor circulation. Once it's diagnosed as carpal tunnel, sure. No reason to worry. But before then, I don't think it's over the top to worry about those symptoms and have them checked out by the OB.

  • Being pregnant we are told not to sleep on our backs.. So when sleeping on my sides resulted in my arms falling asleep yes I was concerned. My arm fell asleep putting on mascara and while I was at work as a server and it started happening all at once. This is my first pregnancy so I guess I question every little difference I am feeling. Thank you to those who understand my concerns. To those who clearing were imply I was an idiot for worrying about my baby could have just not replied. I am pretty sure this app is intended for informing and discussing all of our experiences. The negativity really isn't needed at all.
  • For the record I never had wrist pain or problems with my wrist. It was my entire arm and hand usually both at the same time
  • I have the aches, try having your partner gently squeeze your joints. It feels great.
