I did it ladies, still can't believe it. On 10/14 I had a successful unmedicated vbac. I did tear quite a bit inside and around my labia though, so I won't be able to sit at all or walk normally for a little while. I was 41+4 weeks. One day before I was scheduled to have a foley bulb inserted. I woke up around 6:30/7am feeling intense cramping contractions. Got my hubby up to make food and called grandpa to watch my toddler. I called my doula to meet at the hospital. I had been having frequent braxton hicks for a while so I knew that this was different. We drove the hour and a half to the hospital, got there around 10am and I labored in the parking lot with my doula till around 12ish (it was getting hot outside). We got checked in to L&D and got all hooked up to the monitors and IV for fluids (didn't want it but they wouldn't waiver, I was nervous they'd sneak in pitocin like with my first at a different hospital). I was at about 6cm when they checked me. After a couple hours or so of walking around and sitting on the ball, I got up on the bed on my knees and my water started breaking as my mucus plug came out. Then the rest of the water came out and I progressed to about 8cm. Another couple hours or so went by and I had to stay in bed but I was almost fully dilated when my doc came in around 3:30ish, they got me set up to start pushing. I really don't know how long I was pushing but my doc had to help open me up more and then use a suction thingy to maneuver baby out. They finally told me they could see a head, I even touched down there to make sure, then after a lot of pushing and screaming, I was being handed my baby at 4:24pm. I looked down and moved the umbilical cord out of the way and announced "It's a girl". We waited to find out so my hubby made sure I'd be the one to announce it to the room. I guess I had quite the audience: my hubby, doula, sister in law, my parents, a nurse, the doc, his two assistants, and 2 nurses for the baby.
The doc waited till the cord stopped pulsating then told my hubby to come cut the cord. I was given pitocin to contract my uterus and help stop the bleeding. Made me shake like crazy just like last time, so that made me mad cuz I was very specific about not wanting that in my birth plan. I understand their reason but for the next hour I was being stitched up, so trying to relax so that could be done was impossible. I'm still pretty swollen and sore, can't really do much other than lay in bed, but it was all worth it to be able to breastfeed right away and not have my baby born on those meds. And to prove my last doc wrong, that I'm more than capable of delivering a baby vaginally with my supposed narrow pelvis :)
