Crafty B's - mitten project?

The cooler weather is making me a knitting fool (and even attempting a bit of crochet) - anybody interested in a nice little project to keep our littles' hands warm? I'm loving the idea of knit/crochet mittens with an attached string.

Most of the patterns I've found are knit, but I did find at least one crochet pattern (or maybe some of you have a crochet mitten pattern you like?).

Anyway - let me know if you ladies are interested in getting your knit/crochet on!

For those of you who are not so much into yarn as sewing, I also found a cute mitten pattern (thanks to the CD board) for sewing some simple looking fleece mittens ... so everybody can play!

I'll post the patterns below for people to persuse, or folks can post their own pattern ideas!

Honestly, YouTube has been my favorite resource for this stuff. You can just search for whatever stitch you're trying to learn and watch the video as many times as you need, then pause, try it yourself, etc.

Ooh! This seems like a great way to get back into knitting (and use up some of my embarrassingly large stash)! I keep starting projects that involve knitting in the round, and I just cannot get through the first two rows.

I knooooow, @subliminalrabbit‌! That's why I keep trying, but I have seriously deficient spatial skills and attention. I tend to get to the joining part and decide that it's failed or looks awful, so I pull it all out and start over. Or throw it. I think I'm feeling inspired to try again tonight after I get B to bed. I found a super cute reindeer hat that I'd love to make for BabyGirl and B. Do you use circs or dpns?

@vitafelix - I use a combination of circular and dpns. I like dpns for small numbers of stitches (I can imagine I'll be using dpns for the little mittens), but as soon as there are enough stitches to stretch around my circulars, I definitely use those.

@megsw85‌ I taught myself to crochet with YouTube. I made one washcloth then went right on to a baby bib with a rating of "Expert". The pattern book had pictures of each stitch. I am now realizing that I never had DS wear the bib.

I think that's why I never put it on DS. He had reflux and spit up ALL OF THE TIME.
