Re: Ten Things Tuesday!
1. I swear I have super woman growing in my tummy R felt her move for the first time last night and maybe it is the 1/2 café coffee I am drinking but I can see her little kicks on the outside this morning and she moves so much.
2. So R and I had her 3 year old niece visit this past weekend and kids are exhausting! When she left R was like I am glad they don't come out at that age. It was a lot of fun but she was always on the go.
3. I am starting to really show and have been able to avoid seeing my mother for the last couple weeks but I really need to tell her I am pregnant soon.
4. We registered this past week at BRU mainly for the gift card and completion coupon. I registered for anything we plan on buying from now to baby arriving just so that we are adding to our own gift card value.
5. Oliver was so good with Ava (the niece) she would hug him, kick him, pull on his tail, get right up in his face and he just laid there watching her like she was the most interesting thing he had ever seen. The only thing he didn't like was when she would scream in his face.
6. On that note now Oliver keeps going to the spare bedroom where Ava stayed and stares at the door.
7. Deciding on a name for our little lady is tough so far we like Avery, Emerson(which we likely won't do), and Emsley. What are your feelings on those names?
8. The further along I get in this pregnancy the more real it is. At the 20w a/s she weighed 13oz which according to my pregnancy app is typical weight between 22 and 23w and the next weight point is one pound!
9. All the animals are coming up on needing vet visits and my PITA Shar Pei has too get sedated to handle being at the vet which leads to one expensive vet bill.
10. We need to get going on painting the nursery before the busy retail season starts for both R and I.

1. We have a wedding to go to tonight and will be leaving straight from work since it is at a winery about an hour away.
2. My FIL in law flies in tonight for a short two day visit from Texas.
3. We thought FIL was getting here Sunday, and now it is too late to change my requested days off.
4. Excited to start cycle 3 the end of this week.
5. Nervous about how I can keep myself busy without over analyzing during TWW.
6. This is our donor's last cycle since he will be moving which DW and I are close to devastated about. He is exactly what we were hoping to find in a donor.
7. Keep reminding myself that if it doesn't happen with this donor it just means that it wasn't supposed to.
8. Just realized we forgot to purchase a gift for the brides, fortunately, they have requested donations to their honeymoon fund which made that easy to take care of!
9. Is it really only Tuesday?
10. Oh no! I forgot my shirt to change into for the wedding. ::scurries off to find a place to go buy one during my lunch break::

Like @Crazyaunt84 said at 24w if you go into labor they will medically step in to save the baby before that they won't do anything for the baby as they do not consider the baby viable yet. It is a big milestone!!

1. My brother turned 16 on Sunday. We never thought he would make it to this milestone birthday. He has been classified as "end of life" for almost 2 years now. Doctors cannot explain it. He has good days (good for him) and bad days, but he is still with us. It is remarkable. I can't believe he is going to meet his nephew at Thanksgiving. I am very emotional about this.
2. I really didn't want the food I brought for lunch today, and I was definitely tempted to go buy a salad from the café in my building, but I didn't. Pat on the back. I am still hungry...
3. I can't wait to start offering Will food at 6 months. We are going to try BLW. I am nervous, but excited. We are planning to start with a sweet potato on his 6 month bday with a "1/2" bday candle in it!
4. We are taking Will to the zoo with my MIL this Saturday. I'm really excited!
5. I was texting with my middle sister's boyfriend yesterday about the birthday present that I was buying for her (my sister)... anyway, her boyfriend is such a nice guy and I like him a lot, and I actually think he makes my sister a better person. At the end of our text conversation yesterday he said to me "Say hi to J for me, and I can't wait to see William at Thanksgiving!"... I seriously hope my sister marries this guy. I already secretly refer to him as Uncle when talking to Will LOL
6. My mother has been going out shopping and texting me pictures of things asking if we would like it for Will... problem is I don't like 90% of the things that she sends over, and J pretty much hates 99% of it... she started texting both of us now b/c when I am at work I will often ignore her when I am busy and she isn't getting real time responses while she is in a store LOL... anyway, poor J now has to be the one to keep telling her we don't like any of it HA! Anyway, this has resulted in us making 2 Amazon wish lists for William -- one for clothes and one for toys/books/gear. This way family can see what we like. It is nice that people want to get us things we will use, but I feel badly making lists. It feels like we are asking for things, but that is not the intention. I don't know... I know we are picky, but also there is some reallllly ugly baby stuff out there. Why?!?!
7. So, we are making it work being on one income. We certainly don't have lots of "extra," but so far we seem to be doing OK. It makes me wonder why we didn't have soooo much more extra and savings when my wife was working? Where did her paychecks go exactly? Hmmm...
8. So my wife re-connected with one of our college friends (via FB) who has 6 week old twins, and we just realized she and her husband live 5 mins from us! J went over today to drop off some bottles that we had received as a gift that Will won't use, but are the kind these twins use. She said the twins are super tiny and adorable. I am excited for this connection for us and for Will! Friends!
9. We have started making our packing list for Thanksgiving. I am nervous. We have sooo much to take... not to mention the idea of a 6 hour drive (likely longer with holiday traffic and multiple stops) with Will and the dog. I am also nervous about him sleeping somewhere other than at our house. I just don't want to mess up what is working so well for him...
10. Aaaannnnddddd, I just talked off the record with a another dept head at work about switching to his team. It would be a total career shift for me, but I kind of think I might like it... ahhhh, I might be crazy!

Our Boston Terrier keeps running to my Mom & Dad's house when we are outside. This morning I was yelling for him as he looked at me and sprinted down the road. It used to happen just once in a while. It is increasing now to a few times a week.
3. I've been continuing to do a lot of soul searching about our TTC journey. I've been thinking a lot about adoption and foster to adopt. Financially, foster to adopt is what makes sense for us. It also does in terms of how long it would take to get a placement. We could be waiting on an adoptive parent list at a OBGYN's office for years before we might get picked. Our County CPS is currently desperate for foster parents.
4. I just brought up the idea in a more serious sense to C today. I told her that maybe we are supposed to adopt and maybe that's why none of this has worked out.
5. I wish I had done more soul searching before moving to IVF. I suppose we probably would have done it anyway. It is depressing to think about the money that we've sunk into this for nothing at this point. That's the chance you take though, and we knew this. It's different to be living it though.
6. I'm not on any meds other than the supplements - DHEA and multivitamin with Co-Q10 and some other minerals - and I still find that I'm overly emotional lately.
7. Lately I've been wishing that I had gotten my biochem degree like I had originally set out to do. I'm tired of helping people.
8. I think I need a break/vacation. I think I need to start thinking about self preservation.
9. I'm ready for a new tattoo. I've been thinking about it for a while and finally have an idea of something that I want. Money will dictate when it actually appears on my body - so not any time soon.
10. Infertility has sucked the life out of me. In this moment, I'm not sure that another fresh IVF cycle is in our future.

2. S turned two months yesterday! Today she gets her shots which will be sad to watch.
3. To make matters, worse, J has,to open her shop due to firing someone and can't go with me to the appointment!
4.We engaged an architect to draw plans for our dream of a second floor. I am hoping I can do some financial acrobatics to make it happen. We'd go from a 2 bd/1 bath to a 4 bd/2 bath for WAY less than buying a new house.
5. My wrists and thumbs hurt so much from breastfeeding. I'm considering a shot at the hand doc.
6. We bought our tix and are going to attend the bump GTG in Boston that @ball.and.chain is putting together. If you are on the fence about going, I say do it!!!!
7. After, we are roadtripping to PA to see my dad. His health is struggling and he's gotten very depressed, and I worry he'll give up...so I want him to meet Simone sooner than later.
8. Niagara Falls is only 30 min out of our way so we're making a stop there for the photo op, and J's never been!
9. I'm nervous to fly with the baby, but figured we needed to "break the seal" at some point!
10. I read the TTC thread and I always have comments and thoughts and want to cheer you all on! Since I can't post there, I'll just say I'm rooting for you all.
Me (43) and J (45) - same sex couple. And we don't feel 40+!

@2MamazInSeattle - I heart that photo!
1. I seriously woke up today thinking it was Wednesday until I saw KH had started this thread. (I started this list yesterday)
2. We're not ready to start TTC again yet, but I feel the longing to be pregnant again when I see obviously pregnant women.
3. I'm also thinking about what type of birth I want for #2. I wanted to deliver Ash at a birthing center (insurance wouldn't cover it), but having had the experience of giving birth once, the thought of having to pack up and leave 4-8 hours after delivery sounds pretty horrible to me. That leaves home or the hospital. Home is really appealing considering how fast and smooth Ash's delivery was. But, I LOVE my OB/midwife practice and don't want to give them up. Plus, I had everything I wanted out of my birth experience at the hospital (and nothing I didn't want), so I don't know that I would really gain anything from being at home. Plus, not sure that my insurance will cover a home birth.
4. Speaking of baby names, my number 1 choice for a boy is quickly becoming more popular, so I need to keep thinking. Z and I had a really had time agreeing on a name the first time. Since Sebastian was her choice, she agreed that we could go with my choice for #2 - but we may have to go back to the drawing board.
5. Ash has some little raised bumps on his torso all of a sudden. He doesn't seem bothered by it. Wonder if I should call the pediatrician...
6. Just realized that Ash's birthday is scheduled on the same day as the last day of regular season college FB - rivalry week. Oh well. We can keep the tv on in the background for the FB fans.
7. The week before Ash's birthday party, I'm trying to juggle attending my friend's daughter's first birthday party and another friend's wedding that is an hour away. It's making me exhausted just thinking about it.
8. My boy is snotty and I've been using the saline drops + nosefrida the last few days. He hates it. You would think I'm torturing him by the way he screams and cries. I saw this video yesterday, and it reminded me of Ash (without the crying):
https://m.huffpost.com/us/entry/6013588?ncid=fcbklnkushpmg00000037&ir=Parents
9. When do people start regularly putting shoes on their children? I've been waiting to buy Ash his first "real" pair after he gets the walking thing down. Figuring that might be another first bday treat. And a little trim. I need to do something about his lil baby mullet.
10. Hugs to all and happy Wednesday!
@2MamazInSeattle - I heart that photo of Simone. I had a dream last night that I was going to get a tattoo (of books) while on the beach. Weird...

@KH826, I worried about making a similar trip in August -- basically the opposite direction to visit ILs in NJ -- and it went just fine! Hopefully it all goes well.
(((@StacyLH24)))
(((@Lolabelle515)))
I found the whole ugly baby stuff conversation interesting. I am really pick about my own clothes, house furnishings, etc and thought I would have the same problem but have been surprised how much I really don't care. I have a certain "style" I like for B when I am picking out clothes for him, but if someone gives us a gift that fits him and is weather-appropriate, I'll use it. Maybe my gift-givers just don't have horrible taste or maybe I am lowering my standards, I don't know!
1. I feel like I am rarely on time with my posts these days, but that's OK.
2. B gives the daycare ladies big smiles when he comes in, and they are very affectionate with him. It makes me happy.
3. I lost 4 lbs this week, which is great...but I've been in a pattern of losing, then gaining it back the following week, then losing, then gaining...so I'm really hoping I can stick with it this time and keep the scale moving in the right direction.
4. I do wish I could go running. When I was doing it, it did wonders for my metabolism. I still don't know how to fit gym trips into my schedule, and I hate running outside (not really sure how to fit an outside run into my schedule either anyway, since B is too young for the jogging stroller).
5. I am excited about the GTG, but also a little nervous since I always feel a little awkward meeting new people!
6. My sister has a serious bf we love and I was hoping he'd propose on her birthday yesterday. No dice. Oh well. I know it's going to happen, it's just a matter of when.
7. My favorite (hard to find, late-season) apple variety finally showed up at the farmer's market yesterday. I was ridiculously excited about it. And I'm still excited cause I have another one to eat today.
8. We are back to working on our wills again since we put the process on hold when I was induced. It's a weird thing to spend a lot of time thinking about, but at least we did come to a mutual decision on who B would live with if anything happened to both of us.
9. I am looking forward to Christmas!
10. Being a family of three is pretty awesome.
