Progress/rant: Thus far, my active attempts at weaning have caused about a cumulative 30 seconds of fussing, and feedings are MUCH shorter. However, he's getting upset because when he does nurse, it's "all gone." (Normally, I squirt if I express any, and now it takes work to get so much as a drop.)
GTKY: Nursing is making the nausea about 20% worse for me, hence part of why I'm weaning.
I weaned my daughter in August in anticipation of getting pregnant and she hadn't asked to nurse in a month or so but this week she has been pulling down my shirt and has been trying to latch onto my collarbone. Every night this week she has been asking "nursie nurse all gone?" At bed time. I'm wondering if she can sense that I am pregnant. Of course I am feeling some extreme mommy guilt for weaning before she was ready and I was not expecting her do become so interested again once I became pregnant.
Weeks Pregnant: 6w6d Age of nursling(s): 25months Progress/rant: I'm feeling drained and exhausted.... Doesn't help that we all have the flu, so I also feel inclined to give in to her for the antibodies. DD #2 is so strong minded she tantrums and screams until she makes herself vomit if I say no.... And I feel mean! I'm trying to cut day feeds, but she still feeds several times in night, and she keeps swapping "other one boobie" over and over until I'm exhausted.
My boobs are shrinking not growing?! Weird?! I've always been slim build, but large chest, I'm trying to hold off buying smaller bras as that seems ridiculous when pregnant.
I think breast feeding is amazing btw Such a miracle, and beautiful thing to do, but boy am I DRAINED
Help?! And good luck
(DD #1 weaned quite easily at 20 months but I was working two days a week, I wonder if being with #2 all the time is what has made it more difficult)
I'm trying to encourage cuddles and a cup of milk etc instead... Not very successful
Have a great day ladies. It's 8 am here and DH is making me breaky in bed while my little ones sleep!
Weeks Pregnant: 7w 5d Age of nursling(s): 17 months Progress/rant: in the process of night weaning. Last night was the first night it was successful, so I hope it continues. After night weaning, I'll work on the day feeds. I'm really ready to be done, but I feel bad that he's not. GTKY: I've never heard that but it would explain a lot of it were true. I'm so much more nauseas this time. Blaaahhh.
Weeks pregnant 7 Age of nursling: 19months Progress: we're taking the slow road. I don't mind nursing in the morning or at night before bed. It's the "snacking" I'm trying to stop. He hates it.
Nursing and morning sickness: I have no idea. I had never heard that it can effect it. Interesting!
