Christening DIY

hey ladies!! I'm getting ready to throw LOs christening and was hoping to get some ideas on some cute DIY decor or favors... Anyone got a really great idea they want to share?

Re: Christening DIY

  • You might think this is crazy, but the bible often mentions honey, and how it is shared in "delight". You can get some honey sticks on Etsy. I think someone has 100 for $18 and you could put a bible verse about the honey. Maybe

    Isaiah 7:15

He shall eat curds and honey when he knows how to refuse the evil and choose the good.

  • You need favors for a christening?
  • I just had paisleys baptism yesterday. We had all the family at the church and godparents/grandparents were up with us during the ceremony. Afterward, we had a BBQ at our house and everyone brought a dish to pass and I got the meat (burgers/hotdogs) and the cake. The "gifts" I gave were to godparents and it was a shadow. Oz with her picture and a handprint in some crayons model magic clay stuff. Nothing expensive. To decorate, I got a few balloon bunches from the party store with normal balloons and a cross balloon and throw away plates and utensils that had a "paisley" pattern. It was awesome!!

  • Now I am worried that I have to make christening favors...

  • I've usually just seen chocolate lollipops but I was curious if anyone had a cute crafty idea...

I was going to print out my favorite pics of LO and find some nice frames for them to put on the tables get some cheap cases and make a couple cute centerpieces with flowers, rocks, pictures etc...
  • We are going so low key, that this isn't even on my radar.

We are just having our parents, grandparents and siblings over for lunch after. I might make a cake. Haha.

This. Ain't nobody got time to be making favors!

We aren't even going that far.  The church offered to have a reception in the parish hall afterwards.  No prep or clean up for me!

Full disclosure, family coming from out of town will probably come to our house afterwards, but nothing that requires me to "host" anything.
