We just got back from LO's 4 month appointment and she has been given the go-ahead to start solid foods. I plan on making a lot of my own and saw something posted about buying the Ninja so it got me thinking... For those who plan to make their own food, what type of appliance will you use?

My baby doesn't need pureed food because, well... advanced!
My sister and I are making it together (our babies are five weeks apart) we are using just a plain old blender. I also have one of those hand food grinders I'll use when LO is a little older.
Here is my question for those who have made or plan to make food. I've been looking at the infantino fresh squeeze but then saw the kiinde foodii on Zulily. Anyone have experience with either?

SS: We plan to buy while we do the trials because I'm worried about making a bunch and then finding out that he can't have it. Once we have a good list of foods that don't cause a reaction I'm between making then and just a modified BLW. If we do puree I'll dig out the immersion blender.
I have a small blender that I plan on using, along with a regular sized one when she starts eating more. Ideally, I would like to do a bit of purees with BLW.
I have a baby bullet but it was leaking so my dad bought me a cheaper name brand like a ninja. He bought it at Macy's it was $20 it's called a Bella Rocket Blender. Works great!
I use an immersion(hand) blender. It's much easier to clean than a food processor or other blenders. It can do any size batch. And you can use it for cooking (soups and anything else that needs blending).
My h insisted we get the baby bullet. But we plan on trying to do mostly BLW so we will see how that works out, lol. The food I have already made, I just used a masher and added the water from steaming the veggie to thin it out.

Also, for those who have experience making your own... do you freeze large batches? If so, do they thaw pretty well? Thinking once we get into it more it'll be easiest to make a big batch and freeze some.
Magic Bullet... Because it sounds so naughty! And we have one. DS1 only did baby food for about a month so my frozen homemade baby food was passed onto a friend. We'll see how long DS2 wants it.
Get an immersion blender. You can blend the food in the same container you cooked it in and it is way easier to clean compared to a food processor. I made big batches and froze in ice cube trays with DS.

I have the Ninja as well as an immersion blender.

For the OP, we have an immersion blender, a regular blender and a food processor... I'll try those before buying anything else
