TTC at 36 via IUI (loss mentioned)

This is my first time posting here. When I was growing up I had my future family all planned out in my head. I knew there was plenty of time so I was not in any rush. When I found out I was pregnant last September (surprise!) I was happier than I could ever imagine. When I miscarried at 12 weeks I was almost inconsolable. Then a break up with my long time boyfriend followed. Since then I have been thinking more and more about having a baby on my own. Why wait any longer? I am 36 (37 in January) and will have my first IUI in December. I am excited, thrilled, and terrified. What if it doesn't work? What if it does? What if I miscarry again? So many things running through my mind and heart. I would truly appreciate advice and experiences.

    I don't have any advice or experience. I'm new to all of this (at 36)...but I can say welcome and I hope you find support here. It's a great board with ladies who have lots of good info and shoulders when things get tough! Good luck to you!

    ETA: sorry for your loss. I had a miscarriage at almost 10 weeks so I know the heartache.

    I have no iui experience but this is a very knowledgable and friendly group.

    I'm sorry for your loss.
    Even though none have welcomed you yet we have several members who are single doing IUI/ IVF. Hopefully they will introduce themselves so you know you have other woman in your shoes.
    When your IUI gets closer feel free to ask any questions you may have our board is full of knowledgable woman.
    I hope you are active until December so we can get to know you and give you the support you are looking for.

    Welcome!  One of my mom's good friends chose to be a single mom and has never regretted it.  She has an adorable little girl "all to herself".  :) Best of Luck to you on your journey.

    Off Mirena Nov 2013, On Nuvaring end of Jan, Back off Sept 2014.  Never ending cycle starting end of Sept... 
    11/14 Provera failed... cycle continues 
    12/14 High FSH (57 "midcycle")  OBGYN had no clue... about anything 
    01/15 More lab results coming back from RE. U/S showed small (1")cyst on left ovary, thin lining, and couldn't locate right ovary so  possibly straight to DE and IVF 

    Occassionally mess with the chart below to see "what if" and learn (not to make it pretty but because FF stays drunk with me).

    Welcome!  I have no experience with IUI or going it alone but I would do it if I were in your shoes, hard you bet, an emotional roller-coaster no doubt, worth it more than I can say.  Best wishes!

    December 2014: IVF #1.  Microdose Lupron protocol.  9R, 9M, 9F.  3 5-day blasts transferred 12/15. BFFN.
    April 2015: IVF #2.  Microdose Lupron protocol.  16R, 15M, 12F. Transferred 2 5-day blasts 4/12 and froze 4--BFP!  M/C 5/25/15
    August 2015: IVF #3.  14R, 13M, 11F.  Froze 5 blasts for CCS testing.  3 normals.  FET planned for 10/2015.
