Pregnant after a Loss

I'm having a freak out. *UPDATE*

I've been really good this pregnancy with not freaking out but I guess that streak is ending. I'm 18+4 right now and haven't gotten to the point of bam in your face obvious movements, they're just really strong flutters but I know it's LO it's also usually first thing in the morning, when I'm sitting, and at night. Saturday they weren't over obvious all day but at night he was being really active. Sunday I felt him most of the day but last night couldn't really get anything. This morning I'm not getting much either. I work this morning so I don't want to break out the doppler right now. I'm hoping after I eat something he shows up and if I'm still having issues I'll use my doppler when I get home (I've had no problem findind LO since reaching about 17 weeks). I'm just getting so scared I don't know what I'm going to do if I can't find a HB. I've had early and late losses so I guess I was being naive thinking middle pregnancy was safe :/

Update: So on my way to work I stopped by Dunkin Donuts, got a boston creme donut and some orange juice. I felt a few strong flutters here and there while at work and broke out the doppler a little while ago when I got home. He is perfectly fine :) He kept running away so I couldn't get an accurate HB but it was high 140s low 150s. I also heard him moving around a lot so it was just PgAL brain making me worry. Thanks for all the hugs and good vibes ladies!!

Re: I'm having a freak out. *UPDATE*

  • I know it can be scary but he may have just moved into a position that you can't feel him right now. Some days the baby is just more active than others.  Fx that he starts moving about to give you some peace of mind.  ((hugs))

Don't forget that you are also still early - I'm 26 weeks and I still have days where I can hardly feel her at all.

  • Hugs. I know that it is scary. I actually didn't feel anything with this pregnancy until almost 20 weeks due to an anterior placenta. My doctor told me that it is normal for many people not to even feel anything until 22ish weeks regardless of placenta placement and even then if you feel your baby once a day that is ok. I was definitely using my doppler pretty consistently until 24 weeks because of this.
  • Hang in there!! It can definitely be scary. It's too early for feeling consistent movement yet, though, so it really is normal to have some quiet days. It's no fun for you, but it's a-ok for him. Try to take a step back from those worst case scenario thoughts. Pgal brain always wants to jump there, doesn't it. Hugs!

  • ((Hugs)) It's normal to have both active and slow days. 18-19 weeks is still early to feel regular movment. Also, if LO has changed positions it can be harder to feel their movements.

I would have something to eat. Have some juice or something sugary to wake LO up. I hope you feel something soon. I would definitely check on the Doppler when you get home, just for the peace of mind.

  • HUGE ((HUGS)). I always found that sitting still slowed me to feel more movement. I had many freak out moments around that time and relied on my Doppler a lot. I actually have not even out my doppler away yet. It is still sitting next to my bed, just in case.

I hope your day goes by fast so that you can use your doppler, but I hope you feel some movement even before that!
