PPGP?

Hi! New here, but I've been lurking for a few weeks. I'm a FT(bio)M (current step-momma) and dealing with Pregnancy-related pelvic girdle pain. It's been manageable the past few days, but at my last Dr appointment, she recommended PT if things get worse. Blah! I'd like to avoid PT if at all possible, but really I'd like to be able to be much more active and not feel so dang miserable just standing. I was wondering if anyone else has dealt with this or is dealing with this and what you've done to manage. I currently walk regularly (as well as other activities) and do prenatal yoga on occasion. Sometimes the yoga helps and other times it makes it worse :| Whomp whomp.

Anyway... any suggestions/advice appreciated!

Re: PPGP?

  • Have you ever been to a chiropractor?

With DS I could hardly walk and by 30 weeks finally saw one for the first time. Life changing.

I've been going more regularly this time around. And am waiting for my appt Wednesday, desperately.

  • Also. I couldn't make it through pregnancy (or even a day whole pregnant) with out my rice/corn bags. Make one or have a friend make one. (Seen them at craft fairs too)
    It's heaven.
  • I am going to try my first chiro appointment on Thursday, hope it works as well as everyone says :)

  • Thanks ladies! I appreciate the advice. I've never been to a chiropractor before, but I've had massages. Does a massage work as a close second to a chiropractor? Or is a chiropractor really the best?

And I will certainly check with my doctor about a warm bath/hydrotherapy.

I've not heard of a rice/corn bag @ksilmom11‌ is there a good DYI or Amazon link I should be aware of?

    Thanks again!

  • I agree; a chiropractor will adjust your pelvis & back and make you feel a lot better! I need to schedule another appointment. I used to go once a month and it was great.

Ditto this. Plus my insurance covers PT so each visit is around $12 for me. I go 2x per week for hip and back pain as needed. It's amazing! I end up craving it if I haven't gone in awhile and start hurting.
