Babies: 3 - 6 Months

feet still larger

I have heard of women going up a foot size permanently after having a child. I didn't with my first but I am wondering if this is the case with my second. My toes are hitting the end of my sneakers and I am really wishing my body is still adjusting. I already have a large foot and the next size is harder to come by so I am having a hard time facing reality. I am 6 weeks post partum so I am guessing they are going to be this way. Your experience?

Re: feet still larger

  • I'm a little over 5 months out, and my feet seem to be just a little bit larger than before.  But some of my shoes didn't start fitting again until at least 4 months after LO was born, so I wouldn't give up hope yet!

oh no I haven't even thought about that. Can I ask, did you get your pregnancy weight off? I only have half off and hope when I get more off my rings will fit again.

Yes my pregnancy weight is off. And I have stopped breastfeeding. My doctor told me to wait until I was done bf bc your body can retain water. But I have been done for a few weeks and my rings still didnt fit, so I had to have then stretched about half a size.
  • Your feet actually never stop growing. They do often get bigger during pregnancy, and if it's length as opposed to width, it's likely permanent. Most people don't realize your feet still grow in adulthood, which is why so many people run around in shoes that don't fit. (And I did go up half a size with my first but not with my second.)

I am trying to wrap my brain around this. Can you explain more what you mean by your feet never stop growing. I am already an 11-12 women's. yikes! I have been an 11 since about middle school so I am trying to understand this thinking.
