18 month sleep regression anyone?

I thought the days of sleep regression were over. Boy was i wrong!! At first i thought it was naps, she transitioned to one 2-3 hr nap after lunch a little while ago and it was fine. Recently she'd scream bloody murder when i put her down. She's been putting herself to sleep for so long, its unlike her. Fast forward to night time and she started to do the same but it wouldnt last that long. Well last night she slept from 8:30 - 2 am then had a free for all. Up every hour or so since then. I finally put her in bed with me and she fell asleep for a half hour and is up again.

I really hope it doesnt last long, im not sure i can run on this much sleep. Ugh.

I used to post fairly frequently when I was pregnant but have been a lurker since my daugher was born but I couldn't help but respond to this. We are dealing with the exact same situation right now! She will be 18 months on the 27th. It started about a week and a half ago and then got better for a couple of days and now its back down hill. We sleep trained at 8 months ans she has slept pretty consistently from 7/7:30 pm to 6:45/7:00 am since then. This is totally unlike her and I feel like I have a newborn all over again! So tired!!! I have zero suggestions but was excited to learn that I am not alone in dealing with this. Good luck to you guys!

Yes we had this the past few weeks and one night I only got one hour of sleep all night and it was horrible. She's doing better now.

Ugh, Emmett just started having issues a couple of days ago. I can't figure out if it's teething or a sleep regression.
He goes to sleep just fine, but can't stay asleep. He was up pretty much all night the past two nights rolling around, whimpering, talking, and sucking his thumb. He's woken up the past few days during his naps after 20 min just crying hysterically. He'll try to suck his thumb and go back to sleep, but it doesn't work and he starts crying again. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

Before this he was an awesome sleeper. His naps were around 2 hrs and he slept 7:30-6:30 every night.

Wow its good to know I am not the only one going through this but I do feel everyones pain. It sucks. She used to sleep from 7:30pm - 8am no problem, no crying when i put her down nothing. One thing though is she developed a low grade fever this afternoon and a runny nose, So she could be coming down with something. I covered her mattress with a super soft blanket and that is how she was able to nap today for almost 3 hours! I put the blanket again and she cried for about a minute tonight and went down fairly easy ( fingers crossed). We'll see how the rest of the night goes.
I am on the hunt for the soft fitted sheets or flannel ones. It looks like the blanket is helping.

Yes, it started on day one of the 10th leap.

Yes, I've been attributing it to the 10th leap. Not that V and E have ever been great sleepers, and it hasn't got nearly as bad as the 4 month regression, thankfully, but E has been refusing to go to bed alone at night so I've been having to go to bed with her at 8:30-9 pm, for weeks. Even then she has been crying hysterically at bedtime (in my bed, with me next to her), waking up a lot at night and getting up extra early. My app says we just have a few days left (18 months next week) so hopefully it is nearly over.

My response will likely not be a fan favorite, but Owen had a month long sleep recession that we got over last week. He's older than most on this board (born April 15). He'd go down fine and wake around midnight. My H and I started taking a full night so one could sleep for 6-7 hours straight. Even when he'd fall back asleep during this time, he was very restless and would wake himself up. Then one day right back to sttn.

O has had more ear infections than I can count, and had 2 in this 'I hate sleep' period, but I'm not sure that was the only factor.

I hope for all of you it doesn't last as long as ours.

I do think that they 'master' things in their sleep during wonder weeks. I have noticed it with a few things where he literally woke up having a new skill.

For example, Jack's new favorite thing is to high five everyone. My H was trying to teach him 'knuckles' this weekend. Jack kind of ignored him. This morning, first thing out of bed, he high fived us and then did 'knuckles' on his own.
