Can't stop eating!

Is anyone else really hungry all the time or needing to eat constantly to keep the nausea at bay? I thought by this point, I'd feel more like *myself*. I keep eating bagels and carbs, and mayo and pb, I am cravings carbs and fat! I worked out 5x a week when I was pregnant with my son and this time around I keep eating and craving junk and sitting on the sofa. I know i need to eat more veggies, but I'm having a really hard time making a change. Please tell me I'm not the only one!

  • I wake up starving and can go from zero to hungry in seconds. I'm not eating as much though, and the foods I'm eating are not different to pre-preg but I'm not working out.

    I'm eating for 5 so I totally feel ya on that.
  • OP - If your really worried about your appetite and think your cravings are out of the norm, ask your OB to recommend a registered dietitian.  Maybe you need a pro to set a menu out for you.

    I've craved junk food my entire life, so, I can't exactly relate - but if its weird for you and bothering you, ask your doctor.

    2013 summary: Diagnosed with Hypothyroid; Cervical polyp removed (benign); 
    2 rounds ovidrel with timed intercourse (no result): 3 rounds IUI with clomid + ovidrel (no result)
    2014 summary (to date):
    IVF cycle 1 - ER: 4/17 (28 follicles, 3 fertilized, 2 survived to day 3);
    ET: 4/20 (3rd day, 2 embryos - 1 @ 6 cells & 1 @ 4 cells); Beta 5/1 - BFP!; 
    1st scan 5/13 - development behind, no heartbeat detected; D&C 6/2; WTF 6/13
    IVF cycle 2 - BCP begun 7/12; stims w/ HGH begun 7/26; 
    ER: 8/6, 12 follicles, 7 fertilized w/ ICSI; ET: 8/11, 3 blastocysts left, 2 transferred, 3rd arrested 8/12 - none to freeze :'(
    1st beta 8/19 - BFP! 294; 2nd beta 8/26 - 4976; 1st u/s 9/2; 2nd u/s 9/9 - two little heartbeats at 140 each!!! 
    EDD: 29-April-2015
    Other Meds: Synthroid 100 mcg/daily

  • @stephaniejfree‌, don't let anyone (yourself included) guilt you about what you are eating! You are a grown woman and can make your own decisions. If your health becomes an issue, your doctor will let you know.
  • Idea for your bagel conundrum... I am obsessed with the sour cream/ hidden valley ranch dip mix. take a bagel, put that on there, then add veggies like shredded carrots/broccoli/etc... still gives you your carb craving fix but also incorporates the good nutrition.

  • Why is food guilt a bad thing? I mean, obviously, if it drives you to an eating disorder that would be incredibly unhealthy. But guilt is one of those emotions that helps push us toward the right choice isn't it? I for one feel incredibly guilty that I just devoured an entire bag of chocolate covered pretzels in one sitting... And the guilt I feel is totally legitimate, justified, and healthy if I let it motivate me toward not making that choice again. Which it has. I shall not be buying myself one of those packages again! :)
