  yup- any kind of sedation/anesthetic you might get is fine (once it wears off you are fine to nurse. if it's novocaine, it's local, so it won't matter), as are any pain meds they would give you for pain management after.

  I have Valium, I just didn't think it was safe to take.....

  Well the dentist prescribed the Valium but then the nurse said that it would stay in my system hours/age. Since I'm 34 it would take 34 hours to get out of my system, and I would need to pump and dump for those 34 hours. That's crazy I don't really want to do that. It makes me just want to get it done without any medication because the last thing I want to do is jeopardize my breastfeeding relationship with my daughter. It also makes me not trust the dentist or the nurse........

  Yeah I just have had some really bad experiences with the dentist, so I get very anxious before procedures. I just talked to my OB and they said they would not prescribe anything for anxiety. The dr office also does not do gas I'm just going to suck it up and do it with Motrin. Thanks for your advice!
