This may be awkward but...

Do any of you ladies get sharp pains (not like lightening crotch) but like your cervix may be thinning kind of pain go through your vag and does it swell often?? I probably sound like an idiot but worth a shot to see if anybody else is experiencing this...

    Yes, but you should talk to your doctor about it to be safe. I have a short cervix and progesterone suppositories have helped. It could be a number of things from something serious to maybe the baby is just kicking you there.

    My vag swells a lot, but I don't know about the "feeling like your cervix is thinning." I've been having some weird crampy pinchy pain right above my pubic bone just on the left side that stops me in my tracks and just about doubles me over...I know it's not RLP...is it kind of like that? I'm bringing it up with my ob tomorrow (brought it up last time too).

    ETA- JFC at the typos and it taking me an hour to see them.

    I have the same problem, the short cervix and i take progesterone shots every week to help it as well. I have an appointment this week but I'm going to put a call in. I wasnt sure if anybody else has had these feelings.

    I feel like LO or some pressure is there and occasionally will feel mildly crampy, but not what you described.

    Good idea to ask your doc. I get weird sensations when LO is poking around down there but I haven't had the lightening sensation. Let us know what it is!

    I have experienced some pain /pressure when lo decides to punch/push on my cervix. Not quite what you experienced. Good idea to mention it to your Dr.

    Ah, this is a good way to describe what I get sometimes. Sometimes I know it's not lightning crotch or pubic bone pain, but it feel like my cervix hurts. It's sharp and brief, like when you get a pap. I assume it's pressure from LO pressing down with his head. I wondered if it was doing anything to my cervix.

    I called the after hour answering service and the nurse said that its the baby pushing down and that the sharp pain or sensation i get is the baby kicking but that if it becomes constant pain to go to l&d to get checked especially since i have a short cervix. Thank you ladies im glad im not insane lol

    Hey so last pregnancy I swore that I could feel LO pushing on my cervix. My MW said that was ridiculous. Well sure enough after persisting she checked and I was 1 cm. this was around 31 weeks. But yes I would describe it as a strange pressure in my vag but not hurting my vag at all. If you've ever had an IUD removed turns on its the same feeling, talk to you doctor, I ended up needing that shot of whatever to speed up lung production and a shit to stop labour. dD came at 40w3d
