No 12 week scan... Any one else?

I did the Verifi test so my doctor didn't order a 12 week scan. I've heard than other doctors order both. Of course my crazy hormones have me thinking my baby is missing an arm or something. Waiting until 20 weeks seems so far away! Will do the screen for NTD in a few weeks. Verifi came back with good results. I'm still nervous for some reason. Tell me not having a 12 week ultrasound is NBD.

I didn't have a 12 week scan. I had one at 8 weeks (vaginally), and will have my a/s at 18 weeks and that will be it.

Thanks! I just started to get worried when others had it in addition to the early screen DNA test. I had it with my 2nd but I don't think I had one until 14 weeks with my first and that was at the perinatalogist. I'll just hold tight until 20 weeks. Yay yay

I also won't be having one and it is making me nervous too! I know it's normal not to have one but I can't help but worry. I'll be anxiously waiting for the 16 or 20 week one with you!

I had a nuchal translucency scan at 13 weeks. It was definitely reassuring, but not necessary. My practice offered it as an optional screening, and I took it for the peace of mind as I've had a few friends learn via this screening that their babies had major heart defects that would require surgery hours after birth.

I also had the verfi screening. Everything looked great. My NT scan was an optional as I had negative results from the verfi test. I did have that scan, although they didn't feel the need to take any further blood at 12 weeks.

I made sure they were doing an ultrasound before I agreed to it. I really didn't want the test but reallllly wanted to see the baby so I did it. That stinks yours did not offer it.

I didn`t have a 12 week ultrasound, we just listened to the heartbeat. I had a dating one at 7 weeks and I`ll be having the anatomy scan around 20 weeks. I was a little sad just because I wanted to check on LO and we opted out of other testing but things are going well so I guess my MW didn`t see the point in another one

We decided against any testing until our anatomy scan at 18 wks. We are expecting twins making the NT scan less accurate without the bloodwork portion, we felt it would only worry us more and that even with positive results we wouldn't risk a healthy baby for an amino (1/200 risk of misscarriage per baby with twins). So we will wait and see what we have been given and pray for healthy babes! I agree it is soooo hard waiting until that 18 wk scan, we had our dating at 8wks and I'm 12wks 4days so waiting is killing me!!!

I've had an 8w and 12w scan. We are doing an elective u/s at 16w to find out the sex and then will have the 20w A/S - I have no idea if I'll have any other u/s after that. I haven't gotten to hear the heartbeat but we have seen it which is still pretty cool.

I've heard every doctor is different so not having a 12w scan is NBD

I have only had one scan very early on due to some spotting. My next one is not until 20 weeks. It is pretty normal unless you are high risk or having issues.

I had one at 6, 9, 12 wks and I will have the IPS screen at 13 and 15 weeks then I won't have one till 20 weeks, but I was high risk which is why I had so many. Most of my friends have a dating ultrasound a 12 week scan and then a 20 wk scan. I think your in the norm.

My clinic doesn't do early ultrasounds unless a) you're really unsure of your dates or b) you are at higher risk or they suspect something may be wrong. The only reason why I even got one at 10 weeks was because I had two recurrent miscarriages before this pregnancy... One being a missed miscarriage and my OB wanted to make sure everything was progressing.

As much as it sucks and you want to see your baby and have that reassurance, I'm pretty sure it's not uncommon to not get one done.

I am over 35, so they sent me to Maternal fetal medicine to meet with a genetic counsellor who recommended the Verfi and the Nuchal US. Though they did not do the blood work portion of the nuchal scan. I meet back with the MFM specialist at 18 weeks for a level 2 US/

Only had a 7wk dating scan....won't have another until the 20wk. Haven't done anything else...NBD you will be fine!!

I had a dating US at 9 weeks, just did my NT today at 13, and then I will have an anatomy scan sometime in the month of November I believe. I find it odd that we haven't heard the heartbeat yet. They've measured it and said it's in normal range, but we haven't actually heard it. Was looking forward to it, but seeing baby is great too :x :x

The first scan I had was at 12 weeks, which was our dating scan. Our next will be tomorrow, at a little over 16 weeks. I think it honestly depends on the doctor and just kind of the way the timing falls. We didn't have one any earlier because I switched doctors at about 5 weeks so that was the earliest she could get me in! I definitely wouldn't worry!

I also just did the Verifi test and did not get an u/s. My midwife said overall it's less invasive so that's what she recommended. I also won't be getting on until the anatomy scan around 18-20 weeks.
