Anyone using gripe water??

I bought some and we used it two nights ago - only half the night when LO couldn't calm down in the middle of the night. She did calm down. It seems her witching hour is @10-12am. Luckily, it works best for us to have DH take that shift then go to bed and gets full night. If you've used gripe water, have you used it pre-emptively, or waited til LO is full-tilt freaking out?

Loved it with DD. She was really gassy. If she had a particularly bad day with gas we would put it right into the bottle. I think we waited until she got gas/fussy before giving it to her.

We used it with DD, but ultimately her issues were due to gluten intolerance. Of course we didn't figure that out until she turned 4.... Once we put her on alimentum formula she stopped all the fussy/gas/spit-up stuff.

I haven't used gripe water but I've been using Mylicon drops for the gas. My pedi recommended either. It does seem to help a bit with his gas as he's been sleeping better at night.

DS is 8 days old today. I've used gripe water the past 3 nights around 3am, which is absolutely his witching hour. I think it started because once my milk came in on day 2, until day 6, I was having a major issue with oversupply of foremilk. It was causing him to have major tummy issues. The gripe water works really well at calming him down immediately when he's having a major meltdown. And I think that's cause it tastes like sugar water. I think it does help calm his tummy for the rest of the night though.

Well, we just gave it to her because our usually very calm girl (granted she's 5 days old, so who knows, but compared to my others...) was starting to fuss. We'll see how the night goes.
