Are you in parenting hell, too?

We have a 4 year old, a 3 year old, and a 3 month old. It's just tiring and hectic. There's always noise, and never a quiet moment.

More than that, there's attitudes, there's complete ignoring of directions, there's dawdling... I feel like everything is hard, it's all a fight. They fight with each other, they fight with us. We try so hard to be positive, but there's complaints and meltdowns constantly. There's also plenty of love and sweetness, but it feels outweighed by the negative stuff. We live for them, we take them somewhere fun, and then it just ends up being a crappy experience because of something or another. We definitely don't coddle, so we're not letting them run things, but we are not militant parents who don't let their kids talk or express their feelings, either.

I just wonder sometimes if it's just our family that seems to struggle through the days. No matter how many kids you have, do you struggle, too? I think I just need to know we're not alone right now!

Are you in my head? I just read this to my husband, and we both agree we could have written this post verbatim. We have an almost 4 year old and a 10 month old. You are definitely not alone. We are right there with you.

I hate to rush my pregnancy since its most likely my last, but holy hell, I'm so looking forward to January so i can have this baby and then have my wine again. I've missed it so much more this time around.

I have a 4.5yo and 15mo old twins. We both work FT and MH travels 1-2wks out of every month. It's so freaking hard sometimes. So.freaking.hard

You're not alone. 3 has been the age from hell and at just two weeks shy of turning 4 it doesn't seem to be improving lol. Everything is a whiny argument. And now the younger one is moving towards age 2, learning "no", attitude, screaming, running away.

Sigh. I hear it gets better around 7. Lol

Just before, I was standing in DS's (4) room because apparently I'm "not allowed to leave" until he's asleep (a fun new jerkish game) and I was wondering how many more years I have to tip toe out of a room with the fear of God in me that a child will wake up. I'm thinking 15?

(Totally lurking here from Aug14... Hope it's ok to just jump in)... I have an almost 3 yr old and an almost 3 month old and it is so freaking hard all the time. I keep telling DH I have no regrets on the tubal.

That being said I jumped in here to ask a question... Is there ever an age when it gets easy? Or is the answer never? Come on give me some hope here.

No. My children are perfect little angels. They act right. They sleep through the night. They eat all of the organic homemade meals I provide them and they never throw their food. They always clean up all of their toys. And they never watch any television!

Definitely not alone. This is just what I needed to read this morning. The fact that all of you have the same feelings. I have 6 and 2 yo. Some days I reassure myself that I'm doing a good job and then, days like today, I feel like I'm doing it all wrong. All completely wrong.

We were late to preschool this morning because my 3-year-old's ponytail wasn't tight enough, then too tight. There were tears and screaming and I completely understand. When I was young and childless I thought, "My child won't throw tantrums because she will learn that I will never give in to tantrums," but it doesn't matter. I have never given in and I don't do what she asks until she uses a "nice voice," and she still completely melts down with what seems like no provocation. It's a crazy age.

Thank you all! Again, it's just nice to vent and then to feel like we're not alone. It's all good. Some good days, some bad. And I do love the baby (so far...), so three is worth it. But it definitely causes more work than there was before, with two toddler/preschool aged kids.
One day it'll be easier... when they are all out of the house maybe?! :-)
