Yesterday I shared the news with a couple ladies at my work. One of these ladies asked me if I had started using cream for my skin. I knew where she was going (avoidance of stretch marks) and even though I don't use lotion - I said yes in order to perhaps stop that topic from being further explored.
This tactic, however, did not work because she continued to advise me to make sure to put the lotion on my breasts but be careful not to put it on the nipples.
So I say yes that is good advice thank you thinking it was over.
OH NO now she tells me its important for me to buy a loofah and scrub my nipples everyday in the shower to toughen them up for breastfeeding!
UGH gross uncomfortable advice!!!
It was the first round of advice I have gotten anyone else have a good one?
Re: What piece gross of unsolicited advice have you recieved? Possible TMI's here!!
I don't know if I give off some kind of vibe that says don't fuck with me, but I never have problems with strangers do weird things like touch my belly, ask me how far along I am, or give me weird unsolicited advice. I hope it stays this way.
Genetic yes, but even if they weren't I just do not like lotions. Sadly, I will look like a zebra by the time this pregnancy is over - I have gotten them all my life!
Like, yes I'm a ftm, but i was ttc for 10 months. Don't you think i read books, look up info, join forums, watch documentaries...? Or are all ftm expected to be really stupid and completely lost?
I was told I was a bad person for having a planned c-section and epi and I wouldn't be able to bond with my child bc I would be to 'doped' up to know what was going on, the best part was if I did it naturally without drugs I could fit into my jeans in a couple days....um hello! I dgaf about fitting into jeans a couple days after having a baby, I don't plan on going out. And I was totally aware of everything happening during surgery and my child is closer to me than anyone, but then again I am her mother and with her 24/7.
Don't ever touch me without my permission. I have rights still.
The next week we had my BFF and her fam over as well and DH told his ex that we were expecting. She seemed legitimately excited and never "recommended" not having kids again, lol. I also hope she doesn't remember how touchy-feely she was.

I just announced on Facebook last week and the first day back at work a lady I work with came up and hugged my belly and said "hey baby!!!" with her face literally next to my lower abdomen. Wtf is wrong with people.
