trivalent vs quadrivalent flu shot

hi ladies. for those of you who have gotten your flu shot already, do you know if you got the trivalent or quadrivalent?

I got the trivalent. It's what I get every year and I hadn't heard of the quad when I got my shot so wasn't sure if it was ok during pregnancy.

This sounds like it's a question for your OB. This page does say that it's recommended for those who can take the nasal spray, and pregnant women cannot, but I'm not sure that means that ALL of the quads are nasal sprays.

Yeah they make quad shots...they are becoming more widespread this year. I read that the cdc doesn't recommend one over the other for pregnant women because they don't have enough research to do so. Part of me would rather stick to the normal trivalent since it's been around longer and extensively studied but then I think well if the quad protects against one more strain then I should get that. Very undecided!

I had the quad. The one I had was also preservative free and given at the hospital I work for. They knew I was pregnant & to my knowledge either one is perfectly fine.
