Recommend your hairbrush?

Does anyone have a hairbrush they love?
My third Conair one in so many months just snapped. I'm thinking its time to try a new one.
I don't have particularly thick hair but it is long. Honestly, at the rate it's falling out I'm shocked there's any left. :(
I prefer the paddle brush style but am open to suggestions.

Re: Recommend your hairbrush?

  • Umm...I have had the same paddle Conair for like 3 years. Once the balls on the end of the bristles start falling off, I replace it. I have never had one snap. Are you using it as a paddle?  ;)

  • I bought the Michel Mercier brush that helps with your hair falling out.  You barely even realize it's brushing through your hair because it's so gentle. It's great for DD too! I bought the one for thin hair. They also have normal and thick.
I got mine off Amazon but here's a link:

I also have an aveda large wood paddle brush. I have been using them for over 15 years and have only gone through 3 of them.

  • @crene84‌ how big is that one? I like my brush to cover some space when I blow dry. I might get one for the girls hair...

It's not a child size brush if that's what you're asking. I'm not sure it's what you want but I consider it to be just as big as the other brushes I've owned.

  • I had a Kent wooden brush a long time ago.  It was $85 but I got it on clearance for $15.  It was nice, but I would have never paid the full price.  :D

  • @crene84‌ I read samore, those look really cool. They even have a dedicated kids one! Thanks!

@tinyhumantoe‌ I would be shocked at $85 but I googled and found the Mason Pearson to be highly recommended. I'll pass on the $250 hairbrush. @-)

  • You could try the Wet Brush.

I use an old school Goody brush with plastic bristles. I think it's called a grooming brush. It's the only thing that can get my hair up in a ponytail.

  • @AlinnJo‌ I was about to say the same thing. I haven't owned a brush since, well, since my grandma handed one down to me when she baby sat me in grade school.

  • ^^ Not even when it's wet? I can't get out of the shower and not brush my hair. Even if I don't wash it.
