PgAL check in 10/10

Hi all.  No one has expressed interest in taking over the check in, so I plan on keeping the check in until someone else feels up to it.  I think it is an important thread to have, since many of us (ok, all of us) are going through difficulties either emotionally or physically or both.  Thank you ladies so much for your support, both for me and for each other!

How far along are you?

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind?

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?

Re: PgAL check in 10/10

  • How far along are you?     11 weeks and 2 days
Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?     My NT scan is not until 10/23 and then we have a gender dertermination scan on 11/8.

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?     Sore boobs a little and tired. No cravings or aversions.

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind?     Haven't even started thinking about it. I won't for a long time. It just doesn't seem as exciting as it did with Brooke.  Plus, the baby will have to share Brooke's room which means I will have to pack up all her things into a chest will we have made for her to go in our room. I will have a hard time doing that because that has always been Brooke's room.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?     Just always hoping and praying that everything is ok.

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? Next appointment is in 2 weeks.

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? I'm getting a lot better. Now I'm to the hungry ever hour, need to eat 12 times a day point. I'm trying really hard to not eat junk since I gain weight really easily and don't want to gain 50 pounds again like I did with DD.

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind? I don't think we will be changing it much at all. The walls are light green and have been since it was DD's nursery. We took the pink off the walls for Nathaniel and now it is mostly primary colors with a bit of orange and green. It will work for a boy or a girl. We have these balloon stickers on the walls along with some brown dots and circles from DD. https://www.amazon.com/Skip-Hop-Complete-Sheet-Decals/dp/B009KWO3NE#

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? I feel like my belly got smaller over the last week and that is slightly freaking me out. I'm sure everything is fine and things are just moving around in there to make more room.

  • How far along are you? 15 weeks...37.5% done!

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? Regular check in this week. Can't wait to hopefully hear that little heartbeat again!

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? This baby is a big fan of all things sweet. And soft pretzels with beer cheese. But most chicken and even the thought of lunch meat is gross.

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind? Sailboats for this little man, matching his big brother. We've already purchased a few more items to change it up a bit though, and will move the furniture around.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? Feeling a little less hopeless this week, which is making me happier :) My husband, sister and BIL are my rocks and they agreed to be positive and optimistic for me so I didn't have to feel bad just being scared (I took the advice of an article someone posted a little bit ago). It's taken a big weight off my shoulders. I think it's allowed me to relax since I don't have the guilt of feeling like this baby isn't getting enough joy . My three joyful stand ins have enough joy for this baby for all of us!
  • @ikrystal Hooray! I'm so happy to hear about getting your cervix back (sorry, that sounds weird...where did it go? Vacation?) and that the debris is gone! Your update made me very happy today!

@brittianym I know what you mean about the room, packing up will be the worst. We've already started trying to call it "the boys' room" instead of "Lincoln's room" to kind of get used to the idea before we even attempt to actually change anything. And even that's tough. I hope your upcoming scans help calm your nerves!

@dadalou Love those decals! A family member occasionally sends up pictures of hot air balloons as a symbol of hopefulness.
  • @ikrystal‌ yayyyy for good news! Are they going to keep monitoring you closely?

  • BrittianyM  *hugs*.  I understand how difficult it is to change a nursery.  I'm still dreading it myself.  And like you said, it is not as exciting.  FX for a great NT scan.

dadalou I love the colors for the nursery.  And my belly is always smaller in the mornings - like, two pounds smaller.  It is scary, like you said, but maybe it is just normal for some people to notice their belly getting smaller than bigger sometimes.

Mel&John2013 I'm so glad to hear that you have great support.  It is so needed!  And I love the sailboat theme.  We were actually thinking of something similar before. I laughed at your comment about the vacation... yes it does sound funny that way, doesnt it?

shandorfml2 Thank you!  Yes, I have ultrasounds both internally and externally every Thursday, and I have a home health care nurse that comes on Wednesdays.  I really hope this is our last big scare for the pregnancy.

  • ikrystal: Such amazing news!  I'm so happy that the sludge is gone and your cervix has improved, wonderful!  Also, I didn't realize that our boys were born so close together! Saturday was Q's 9 month birthday, and it was pretty tough for me too.

dadalou : My stomach got smaller a week or so ago, and I also was a little concerned.  I bet baby is just moving around in there, and you'll pop back out in no time.

Mel&John2013 : That's awesome that you have such great support!

  • How far along are you? 19w5d

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? Nope, just the 20 week mark this week

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? Still super hungry.  I was terrified that I had gained some crazy amount in 4 weeks, but I had only gained 4 lbs, so that was reassuring.  This baby is hungry ALL THE TIME.

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind? We are doing a butterfly theme.  I've always loved butterflies, and said we would use them for a girl nursery, but now they are more meaningful because of the symbolism of passed loved ones.  Whenever we see a butterfly, we say "hi Q!"

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? SOOOOO relieved we had an awesome A/S on Friday.  I didn't realize how much relief I would feel until after it was over and everything looked perfect.
The other big news is that we found a house, put an offer in, and it was accepted!  I feel crazy for moving in December when I'll be super pregnant, but we love the house.  It makes me sad that we will be moving from the only house that Q lived in, but I know we would have to move eventually (we currently live in a 3 story townhouse), so it is probably best to do it sooner rather than later.

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones?
    Appointment in 2 weeks.

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?
Just a little nausea right now. I had extreme nausea and vomiting with my son, but it's still early.

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind?
    Not yet.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?
I'm just nervous and feeling so many emotions. I had a miscarriage at 8 weeks with my 1st pregnancy and then lost my son at 39 weeks due to a cord accident day of delivery. I am hoping everything is ok and that everything will go ok. I just have to keep reminding myself "for now I am pregnant and happy, but I can not control everything."
  • @ikrystal - congratulations on the good news!
@BrittianyM - I know what you mean - just hoping and praying all is ok. ((hugs))
@Mel&John2013 - I like the sail boat theme:)
@erinel - congratulations on the new home!
  • erinel What a coincidence!  Our boys were born so close together, and we are both 19 weeks pregnant!  I love that you are doing a butterfly theme and that it reminds you of Q.  The beach reminds us of our boys (we were taking them to Hawaii for their first birthday), and I'm using that for theme for this baby. Congrats on a great A/S and on the new house!

msunshine123 I understand that you mean by "I can not control everything."  All of this really is out of our hands, but I will be crossing my fingers that everything works out well for you and you have a healthy and safe delivery.

  • Forgot to check in!

How far along are you? 13 weeks tomorrow!

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? oct 23rd OB

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions?  my tiredness and gagging have slowed down finally! Still craving milk, sweet/sour, not really interested in meat

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind? Ana's theme was classic winnie the pooh, and we are sticking with that and adding some rainbows!

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week?  I'm so darn busy with work, family stuff, pregnancy.... lots of nightmares about losing this baby, and about Ana. Also about my Mom who has cancer. I'm just so overwhelmed!

Do you have any upcoming appointments or milestones? My first appointment isn't until November 6th. Trying to be patient!

Any pregnancy symptoms or pregnancy cravings or aversions? I've been kind of nauseous off and on and a little tired.

QOTW: Any nursery themes in mind? We were temporarily living in a 1-bedroom apartment when our son was born, so we didn't have a nursery set up. We did have a quilt made for him with sea turtles on it and we're planning to do his room to match the quilt. If it is a boy we might do another sea creature of some sort and maybe include Zedekiah's quilt in the decoration somehow. For a girl I've always thought about doing something with butterflies, but maybe kind of in darker fuchsia and purples or something. I'm not a big fan of pastels.

Open Topic. What is on your mind this week? Survival.

  • Sorry I'm late responding, ladies.  It's been a hectic week over here.

shandorfml2 I'm glad you are feeling better. I love that you are incorporating rainbows in the nursery!  Love and prayers to your mom. And, yes, if you could take over the check in, even temporarily, that would be a great help. I'm struggling to find minutes in the day and with all the complications we keep having, it is getting difficult to keep posting.  Let me know if you are still interested.  PM and maybe we can work something out?  Maybe we can switch every other week?

GymSpaz26 **hugs**.  When you said "survival" I immediately nodded my head.  We are all in that same boat. I love the nursery ideas you have, and how you want to incorporate the quilt.

    jess123456 thanks for the update!

aragosta Prayers and love to you, your family, and baby Will!  This update just made me SO HAPPY!!!
  • Congratulations @aragosta! Welcome to the world, Will!
  • @aragosta‌ - congratulations! I am so glad little Will is here! We will thinking of you guys and hope that surgery goes well and his time in the NICU is short.

William was born on 10/15 @ 11:58p weighing 5lb12oz via csection. I went into labor on my own at 36 weeks and they just decided to deliver him. He is having some respiratory distress but the docs and nurses said they expected that. He has surgery tomorrow to fix up his back and then we get to hold him finally!

Congratulations! I'll pray that his surgery went well!
