Breastfeeding

Mamas! Help me with pumping issues please!

I work 3 days/week (sort of, I'm per diem, so sometimes I don't get scheduled). My girls take 6oz at daycare (so 12oz total). Depending on which hospital I'm working at, I either use a Symphony or a PISA. With the Symphony, I usually get 15-17oz in 2 pumps. Today, I used my PISA and only got 11oz! What gives? I tried compressions with minimal improvement. I'm mostly concerned with keeping up supply, not so much with covering their sippy cups since I have a good freezer stash and the girls are 15 mos old.

  • I can't speak to the PISA, but I got WAY better output with the symphony than with the freestyle. That said, are the 3 days all in a block? Or spaced out across the week? I wonder if supply would be much of an issue at this point, particularly if the girls are nursing frequently in between? (I had to pump recently on a business trip, and go basically nothing for a week, but DD went right back to nursing and didn't seem to notice a difference)

  • The days are in a block - I work Wed-Fri, so my output is generally lower on Friday than Wed, but not that much! My girls nurse a ton, so you're probably right about my supply being ok :). Thanks!

  • So @AmyG*‌ , any recommendations since I don't always have access to the Symphony and I'm sure as shit not renting one again at 15 mos :)
