I need help figuring out what to do about DD sleeping at night. I wasn't sure how to google this, but I prefer thoughts from the ladies anyway ![]()
Lily has been a very active baby since birth. Even in the hospital she would worm out of their super tight swaddles within minutes. When she was newborn it was fine, but now that she's getting bigger and stronger we are having issues during the night.
For a solid month or so now the only place she likes to sleep is in her boppy chair. Best invention ever...we don't use the boppy pillow but she loves the chair. Anyway, so we usually put the put the chair in the crib and lay her on the chair to sleep (I'm sure this is another one of those things that is frowned upon, but hey...it works). Well now that she's so much stronger, she's started wiggling down so her butt is on the crib and her head is where her butt is supposed to be!
So we stopped using the chair a few nights ago and decided we'd struggle for a few nights and get her to just sleep in the bassinet or in her crib. We tried the bassinet first. It has a slight angle to it, and that night every time I went to get her she was scrunched into a ball at the bottom and the blanket was all up around her face. Then last night we tried just in the crib. I put her right in the middle of the bed, but that darn wiggle worm wiggled and wiggled until she was up against the bars at the side of the crib! I couldn't believe it when I ran in there when she started crying and she was clear at the edge!
Does anyone have any opinions for what I can do?? I love that she's so active, but at night it's becoming a real pain because I'm always afraid she's going to hurt herself or wiggle so much that she covers her face.
Any ideas would be great!

Re: What to do about a squirmy baby?
What we are going to try it something we saw nurses do in the hospital to keep him in place in that bassinet. It involves rolling a towel up and placing them strategically under the sheet to kind of corral the baby into a specific space.
OOPS, when I say bassinet I mean RNP. We call it the bassinet at home.@zoegirlTX, haha no I don't mean the bumbo! You aren't the first person to wonder when I talk about my chair though!
No, it's literally a BOPPY chair. It's go the rounded shape of the nursing pillow, but it's a full "chair".

It's a miracle worker for us...she absolutely loves it and I am buying two of them for my cousin who is having twins for her baby shower next week.
She isn't moving while she's asleep, it's when she wakes up. She entertains herself for a while before she cries for me to come get her, and it's in the awake time that she wiggles and worms. The mesh crib bumper was the only thought I had. If the blanket or foam noodle idea doesn't work I will probably get the bumper.
yeah I just googled it and I saw that!
So I'll revise, boppy LOUNGER
