Child support modification

Every few years my child support case come up for modification.  They will review the amounts being paid, both parties income and determine if the amount needs to be increased.  I have just received notice that it is again time for my review.  In previous years I have declined the review and left things as they were.  I have not received child support for years at a time and then a sprinkling of partial payments here and there.  Just didn't seem to make sense to request a change in the order if I was not going to receive it.  I have again received notice that it is time for a review and am thinking that I should request the review as it has been almost 9 years since the original order and it would be responsible thing to do for my DS as the money would be going into a college account if it were paid.  What would you do?

    After 9 years, I think it would probably be a good idea to go through the the review. Well, each circumstance is different, so my decision would also be based on what drama may occur as a result. But if you're relatively drama-free, or ready to tackle any residual drama, I say go for it. So much can change in nearly a decade and your DS deserves to have the appropriate support of both parents.

    There is going to be drama but I am prepared for it.  We go to court every two years almost with him asking for something to be changed.  We are about at the two year mark so I was expecting it.  I know that BD has been notified about the review coming up and he has mentioned that he wanted a reduction years past and 'my spider senses are tingling' about this years review.  I think he may push for court.

    Thanks ladies.  I am going forward.  I have a feeling that he is doing the same but if not I still feel like it is the responsible thing to do.
