April 2015 Moms

over weighted twins

Hello good morning everyone.... I am 22 years of age expecting twins. But my problems is I am 15 weeks and 1 day today and my twins are both weighing the same 1lb and 03oz but they both are doing good so far no problems... I am worried they might born too too early... what can I do for them to gain weight less?

  • I am 15 weeks 1 day... when I went to the doc I was 14weeks 6 days.... due for april 09 2015... :(
  • I am almost 15 weeks and my baby weighs like 1/16th that. I would have doctor double check that....

  • Maybe that is the combined weight?
  • Even a combined weight for multiples at this point would probably be only a few ounces? Any docs in the house that can confirm or deny that?

How did you arrive at your due date and how sure of the accuracy are you? Were you charting? Did you do IVF?

A baby shouldn't weigh 1 pound until 20-24 weeks. I'd be calling my doctor today for clarification.

Please call your doctor to clarify before making an appointment with a different doctor. It's unnecessary and puts strain on the health care system. You are old enough to be pregnant, so you are old enough to make a phone call.

Baby Lipo, it's all the rage.

OMG where can I get that? I want to be sure I'm not squeezing more than 6lbs 8oz out of my lady hole. I heard that was the weight limit for not ruining your vagine.

Nope. I pushed out a 6lb even baby and she tore that shit up.
    ------
My DD was 6lb 8oz, so that is the correct number for everyone.

  • No, the 10lbs you gained are not all baby. The baby is probably a few inches long and just a few ounces if it's an April baby. I think someone posted a baby growth chart by weeks on the previous page.  People gain weight in different places  (like boobs, for example), some people's metabolism slows down and they just gain regular "fat" weight, especially if that's combined with "eating for 2."  Your uterus is also growing; there's extra fluid weight of all kinds (water weight, extra blood, etc.)  But no, your baby is not 10 pounds, not even 1 pound.

I thought she was being sarcastic and then  she sounded a tad sincere so...ya know, gotta help the lurkers out, too, who might actually be concerned. ;)

That's what I cry out occasionally! It took us 7 years, 2 miscarriages and 1 round of IVF to get pregnant, why is it so easy for the idiots?!

You guys know that she got pregnant easily?

I never specifically stated she got pregnant easily, in general it seems that people that don't have common sense enough to call the doctor when they think they are carrying 1lb 3oz twins at 15 weeks, and can't even figure out that PP's were trying to say maybe it's a combined weight not combined twins, after it was explained a few times; have no problem conceiving, just like the women that don't bother to use protection even though they know it exists and don't want kids, the ones that are fine with going multiple times to an abortion clinic, or the ones that are fine with leaving a newborn in a dumpster or worse seem to have no problem conceiving easily. Why not educate yourself if you know pregnancy is a possibility?

Just to be clear, I'm not saying the OP didn't have trouble conceiving not that she doesn't deserve to be a mother, or that she is any way, shape, or form related to any of the examples. However I hope she is/was able to figure out her issue with the weight of her twins and educates herself more about pregnancy and motherhood.
