April 2015 Moms

Well, a couple people have noticed

Just to put some back ground, this is baby #4, I popped quick this time.

Just yesterday I went to the laundromat to do wash. A gal with the cutest little kids asked me how far along I am. Up until now, no one has noticed. I don't go around advertising it lol. Not a couple hours later I was at the commissary (the grocery store on base) and the bagger gal didn't want to ask, but she did. She then spent the rest of the walk to the car scolding herself for not noticing sooner so she didn't make my bags so heavy. I promised her I would empty them part way so they would not be heavy as I toted them in to the house. BTW they were not really all that heavy. It was sweet of her to be concerned and notice.

So, have you been noticed by anyone random that you don't already know?

Re: Well, a couple people have noticed

  • I was noticed by three people who just said I was glowing in my cheeks. I told everyone at work yesterday and three MEN were like yeah, we knew. I immediately said, "are you calling me fat?!" haha, but they said it was clear in my eyes and cheeks. Didn't really see that coming...

  • We had a student at work who apparently asked one of my colleagues how far along I was. I was barely 13 weeks and this is baby #1!

  • One of my co workers has said she could tell, also told me I needed to watch myself because I'm showing so soon. And another who already knew if I had a baby bump under my loose shirt yesterday. Why yes I do, 13w2d for me.
  • Unless I wear a really loose blouse mine is pretty obvious. I am getting a bit tired of the looks of shock when they find out I'm only 16 weeks, though. I look about 6 or 7 months already. *le sigh*

  • I'm 15 weeks with baby 1 and it's damn obvious so kids at my school are starting to ask. No randoms yet though!

  • I had one at work, then a delivery guy, and MIL all notice at 8 weeks.  I was pretty unhappy about getting called out so early.

  • I'm just short of 16 weeks with baby #3 and there's no hiding this bump anymore. I have a large uterus and Im going to embrace it!
  • I carry all my grocery bags in at once. Am I not supposed to?

That's what I was thinking! Yesterday I carried like 9 grocery bags in one go.

  • I don't think I can hide it anymore. At 12w 5d my blump can't be sucked in so I'm embracing it. I was over looking frumpy and just wearing oversized clothing, so I bought/borrowed/found pants that's fit and shirts to grow into. I feel so much better. But there's no more hiding it.
  • Also as far as lifting heavy objects isn't it more about straining while lifting than the weight itself?

It's because of the relaxin hormone. It is easier to strain a muscle/ligament or something so if it's not something you are used to doing it isn't recommended. I'm not sure what straining would create?
  • No one has noticed yet (or if they have, they haven't said anything).

    Same here.

  • The gal packed my groceries in those large brown paper sacks. I can only do one or two of those at once. Its not near as easy as plastic sacks. And yes, I will get them all done in as few trips as possible when packed that way :)

  • As far as lifting (since my job involves a fair amount of it), if I was used to doing it before, I can keep doing it now.  Despite that, I still politely decline from putting those heavy ass cat litters back in people's carts.  Lol.

  • No one seems to notice

But maybe I'm keeping my posture straighter & better at hiding the blump-almost-bump. Cuz before I was even pregnant, people would randomly ask.. "Are you.. By any chance..??" At work, at costco sample line.. Haha

Oh that would freak me out! Especially with my first. Ask to touch theirs back, they won't try that anymore ;)
