I realize I keep droping off the face of planet TB, but, my phone signed me out and i never got around to signing back in...yes, that lazy although I like to think I am just busy. I have been lurking and keeping up, just not, you know posting or contributing in any meaningful way. I have lots of sorries to give out

O turned 1 on 10/09 and oh man, it was a trip. I was NOT prepared for all the feels. Reliving his early arrival, so happy and proud but so sad at the same time. He is doing really well, in the 43% for weight and 65% in height for his ACTUAL AGE!! That's right those numbers are for 12 month olds, not 10 months. I am so proud of him.
Biggest thing recently, outside of actually turning one, has been learning to walk and tackling eating big people food. My little man LOVES his purees. We had to take him to the doctor a few times for breathing issues, so we have been on a nebulizer once a day (it started out as twice a day) since June and it has made a world of difference. We have not had one instance of having to use his rescue inhaler, thank goodness!
Also, some of you might find this interesting. O has some skin tags on his ear that we were advised to have removed at about 1. We went to the ENT, was evaluated and went ahead and scheduled the appointment for surgery. That's right they were going to put my baby under general anesthesia to remove skin tags. At his age, that would mean intebation and with his lungs, I was thinking that didn't sounds like a great idea. I did more research and found recent studies that link exposure to general anesthesia prior to age 3 with developmental delays and disabilities in language usage. It is still fairly new research, and there is currently a research study going on (SmartTOTs) to further evaluate the risk, but I was all nope nope nope, so I canceled the surgery. I know I probably seemed like a over protective first time mom, but given that it was elective cosmetic surgery, it just did not seem like it was worth the risk. Anyway, I'll be 'round! Here is some (one year old) squish.
