When did you stop progesterone ?

For those that were on progesterone suppositories just as a preventative measure (no actual signs of low progesterone ), when did you stop taking them?

My RE said I could stop at 9w, which was Sunday, but I can't help but be nervous.

I think I was just shy of 12w. If you are feeling uncertain maybe ask you dr if you can taper off the use rather than just stop.

I'm 10 weeks and my doctor said I need to stay on at least through the first trimester.

I stopped at 10 weeks. My progesterone at my first beta was high but he put me on them just to be extra cautious. I think he was going to stop them at 9 but said if I felt more comfortable with an extra week go until 10 but by then the placenta should have effectively taken over.
Big (((hugs))) I know it's a scary step to take. But it's a step in the right direction.

When I graduated from my RE, about 9.5wks he told me to wean off of them. He said stopping cold turkey could cause spotting. I saw the OB at 11wks, he told me it was ok to stay on them longer, but to stop by 14wks. I was most comfy stopping at 13wks, as the placenta takes over at week 12.

Thank you ladies! I have continued them so far past 9w, and will ask my OB at my appt next week about weaning off soon. I know there is no harm in continuing to take them for now, so I'll give it at least another week or so.

My OB recommended going off of them at the 13 week mark (I too am on them for precaution, not bc of a low progesterone level). I am unreasonably terrified to go off of them though so I am going to discuss this with her at our next u/s at 12 weeks.

I took them until about 12 weeks but my RE said that I could stop at 9 weeks as well.

I stopped about 11w4d I had stopped initially at 10w6d after my last RE appt (he mentioned that if I was leery, I could do one suppository a day) then that weekend started spotting (I think it was from a very busy day at work, the internal u/s and a BM on Friday)... ANYWHO, I started taking one a day after that and I had an OB appt the next week on a Wednesday. She (the OB) mentioned that I should stop taking them by the weekend, she also chose to not do a pap on me so that I didnt associate spotting with stopping progesterone again. After stopping again, I didnt have any spotting.

I stopped taking mine after my 12 weeks appointment. It was really hard to do but my doctor assured me during my ultrasound that my body was doing what it needed to do at that point so that helped.

I took them until 15 weeks, which included a very long (either 3 or 4 weeks) weaning period b/c I was on such a high dose.

I was taking them twice a day. My OB said I could stop them at 10 weeks , but I felt uncomfortable about it. He was ok with me tapering them off and I ended up stopping during the 12 th week.

Twice a day and stopped at 10 weeks..my progesterone was 60 something , was on it because of history. It made ms so bad:)

At 10w we switched to every other day and then stopped at 11w.

All these responses give me some good ideas of what I want to ask my OB! Thanks for all your input. I currently take 200mg once a day, so I may ask about going to every other day at 10w.
