Im not sure if this has been discussed before, i searched but couldn't find it here.
So today is California's Great Shakeout. Which is just a giant earthquake drill. The schools all do it, i know a lot of business get involved as well. Its got me thinking about our emergency kit and what all were going to do if theres an earthquake.
we always joke that we just need to get to FILs bc he had a doomsday prepping phase where he went and bought enough supplies to last our family of 10 for a month. But really, he's ready if anything WAS to happen. Us, not so much.
I have a duffel bag filled with clothes and necessities for LO. Diapers, wipes, medicine for all of us, and an unopened container for LO. I guess i should update that and add in some baby food pouches as well. We also have a few jugs of water, but i feel we need more. How many should you have? is a jug per person enough? We also have a portable radio and extra batteries. And we also have a backpack that is a 3 day survival kit for one person (a christmas present from FIL last year) so that has like dehydrated food and stuff. But we DONT have a plan incase of an emergency. I really need to make one i suppose, since I have LO and grandpa, both aren't very mobile and ill need to know what I'm going to in the event of a situation.
so what are your guys' plans??

They own a 57 acre "farm" in NH. You could live there totally off "the grid" if you had to. Think animals, a huge stocked pantry, a generator, and a wood-burning stove.
I always thought my dad was borderline crazy for investing in all of this.....but with the recent happenings, he doesn't seem so crazy.
I keep a few cases of water, canned food, radio, batteries, blankets and matches/lighters in the garage. We have a huge pile of firewood, a generator and a solar powered cell phone charger. We would be OK at home for a few days without power and/or heat but if we had to escape in a hurry we would be screwed.
My husband is obsessed with safety. A few years ago we had a huge power outage and I was stuck about an hour from home at a big convention. When I finally got home, DH was on the couch eating chef boyardee from a can and wearing a space blanket! It was hilarious!!! I reminded him that we had a premade meal in the fridge and our stove is gas and would've worked fine. He just was dying to bust out the emergency gear!
