Anyones LOs still in a sleepsack? A still is and I know I'm going to have to transition to a blanket. I've been holding off because A) its part of our nightly routine. She knows its time for bed when it comes on. She rolls around to different parts of her crib throughout the night and I'm nervous that she'll get cold at night with just a blanket because it probably wont cover her for long.
DS1 was in a sleepsack until he was 2.5. He wanted to wear it that long and decided on his own he didn't want to sleep in it anymore and has never used a blanket since then. Just sleeps in his pjs. I say if she seems fine in it then let it be.
My LO is still in a sleepsack and it's still working for us. I have no plans to change anytime soon. She is also a mover and, while she has a soft blanket in the crib that she loves, it never stays on her even if I put it on her after she's asleep. I agree with it being a signal that it's time to sleep. I also think it helps prevent her from trying to climb out of the crib. Why do you feel you have to stop using it?
We still use a sleep sack most nights. Our house can get cold at night, but not quite to turning on the heater yet since we are still in the 80s during the day. He usually naps without one. I don't plan on changing it until he starts sleeping in his toddler bed.
We still use a sleep sack but DS has been sleeping with a blanket since 8 or 9 months. The blanket is for comfort and the sleep sack for warmth (and to hopefully delay him climbing out of the crib).

We used one up until a few weeks ago when we switched to fleece footie pajamas. She has a blanket (actually a few) in her crib but it never stays on, she moves around a lot. We also have a small space heater in her room so if it feels cold and I am worried about her staying warm I turn that on. There was no issue transitioning from sack to without. She sleeps all night no problem so she must be comfy.
I jut bought Emmett the XL sleep sacks to get us through this winter!
He loves them and I have no plans on ditching them any time soon. When he outgrows these, I'll probably move onto the ones with feet holes.
He moves around in his crib so much that a blanket would never stay on. Plus, I put a blanket in with him a few months ago and he acted like it was the coolest toy in the world and wouldn't sleep. So much for that...
Another plus is that it keep him from trying to climb out of his crib. ">
Thanks for all the advice ladies! I guess the reason why I wanted to transition her is because I felt like i had to. Everyone that comes over and sees her in her sleep sack make remarks such as " isnt she too big for that" , " those are for newborns", "She needs a blanket".
A loves it and it doesnt bother me , I just thought maybe it was time. However maybe I'll just give her both options and let her tell me when she's ready.
This kid will be in a sleep sack until he's 18! But really, we're not giving it up anytime soon. MIL makes them for him so I like to pick out warm cozy fabrics for winter. Plus he's attached to them and won't sleep his crib without it.
