Tips for smoother induction?

I finally got my date!! 10/20 But now I'm super nervous, does anyone have tips to help make it smoother?

Re: Tips for smoother induction?

  • Just go with the flow. I labored on my feet for 3 hours to let gravity help before I got the epidural and stuck in bed. Read up on breathing techniques to help you cope. But in the end every one reacts differently. Good luck!

  • Thank you . I will look into those I was told they can be very helpful with pain
  • Don't stay in the bed the entire time. If possible try and walk around as much as possible :)
  • Breathing through your nose. Vocalizing. Movement. And ideally waiting until your cervix is ready.

  • I know there's a million old wives tales about how to ripen your cervix, like eating pineapple core, sex, plie squats, etc. While they are not really proven to work, it wouldn't hurt to start doing some of those things. The more ready your cervix is, the easier and more successful the induction will most likely be.
