How would you pronounce Aaro? I love this name, but my husband thinks people won't know how to pronounce it. I think it's obvious since it's so similar to Aaron.
What do you think?

I would pronounce arrow, but I would also assume someone was trying to spell Aaron and forgot the "n" at the end.

It isn't a made-up name though, right? I feel like I used to know a Scandinavian guy named Aaro... I want to say he was Finnish?

I guess I'd just ask: are you Scandinavian? Because I probably wouldn't be the last one to ask.

My unsolicited advice aside: the guy I knew pronounced it arrow, so I'd think it was that.

Given the demographics in my area, I would've pronounced it like "AH-roh". Resemblance to another name doesn't necessarily indicate its pronunciation, and when I looked up Aaro it seemed to be both AH-roh or AIR-oh...so I'd have to agree with your husband that it's not intuitive.
