I work overnights and lately my LO hasn't been sleeping well. Well last night DS Sttn for the first time for DH. Nick told me how he woke up waiting for LO to wake up and when he didn't he put his finger under LO nose. After he determined that he was still infant breathing he went back to sleep. Then alittle while later when LO was still sleeping he poked him to check on him. He said he was so nervous that he couldn't sleep. Lol, just like a mom!
When were in the car and almost home and LO will be crying because she's hungry I'll ask DS is he wants to sing her a song and he'll sing her twinkle twinkle and she stops crying every single time, its adorable.
My mom took a video of DD yesterday while I was at work and she said, "Do you want to say hi to mommy?" and Stella just started babbling and yelling all excitedly, lol I loved it!
When I am nursing LO and he keeps pulling off and looking at me and fussing. It's then I realize I am using both hands to eat lunch or something and he wants me to either hold him or he wants to hold my finger while he eats. He will smile and relatch and eat again as long as I am snuggling him .
For me it is every morning when I go in his room to get him out of his crib. He is usually in there just talking to himself and when he sees me, he eyes light up and he gives me the biggest smile. Then when I pick him up he always snuggles right into me. This is always one of the best moments of my day
DH is sooooo good with DD! He has this thing that he likes to call daddy tummy time, where he lays on his back and puts her on her tummy on top of his stomach. She pushes up and just chats with him like crazy. It's the stinkin' cutest!
I just though of another one - sometimes when I am nursing him I will notice that he has stopped. When I look down, he will give me the biggest smile and then go back to nursing. It is so cute and lets me really know how much he loves me.
@frenchchocolate611 my babe does the exact same thing. Now when she's just kind of nursing for fun I look down at her say in a playful accusatory tone, "Hey, concentrate!" or "Hey, don't play with your food!" and she will look up at me, huge grin, big giggle, and then continue nursing all while smiling so she's not actually latched at all. We do this for like 20 minutes at a time. That and wrestling with her are my favorite things to do. H will just put his head on my shoulder so he can watch and participate because it seriously is hilarious and adorable.
ETA she will do this with the bottle as well. Everyone try it, it's hysterical.
@frenchchocolate611 my baby does this too, although usually with a full mouthful of milk and then it ends up all over me. Sometimes I have to not look at her to get her to concentrate and not just let milk in one side and out the other!
hahaha I have had that happen before too! It is cute though
I thought of a second one. DD loooves it when I have her laid down on the couch or something and I lean my face over her and let my hair tickle her face. She closes her eyes and gets this big smile every time I do it. I love it because it's a special thing only she and I can share.
My LO "hugs" my boob when she's falling asleep on it and at the end she kinda pushes her face against it and covers her little face with her arm, it's the cutest thing. Also the smile she gives DH when he gets home from work, her eyes light up and she just starts giggling. Too adorable.
ETA: omg I just saw the picture from my desktop and I'm showing more than I thought, I'm sorry. I'm trying to delete it but it's giving me an error.
What @MegK82 said. I still use a BOPPY pillow and also have huge boobs. I managed to nurse in my ergo today successfully. Henry does the unlatch to smile at me thing too. It's adorable. Seeing dh playing peek a boo with lo yesterday and getting him to giggle was amazing. It was the first time dh got baby to laugh like that and it melted him.
Olivia does the unlatch to smile at me too! It seriously warms my heart every time she does it. Also I've started walking at the indoor track at our gym with Olivia in the stroller and she will giggle and laugh at me the whole time we are walking. We usually go right after I pick her up from daycare so it is almost like she is so excited to see me she can't contain it. It makes walking so much easier!!
I have another! I got my first real laugh today!! I was eating his cheek saying om nom nom and apparently it was very funny!! He then laughed in his sleep. Super cute.
When I unswaddle LO in the morning she gives me the biggest smiles, and then as soon as her arms are free she shoots them up to stretch and then reaches for me. Melts my heart every time!
Also @ugabamafans hahahaha carpet and bumblebees...love it!
Aw!! DS does the slingshot arms when we take him out of the swaddle and is all smiles too. If he ever starts adding in reaching for me I think I might die. Death by lovely cuteness.
@CAMag that is so cute. All these baby stories are amazing. It's easy to get rapped up in the chaos that it is babies andthe cute fleeting moments can get lost. As I read all the stories that are being shared I think about my experiences with mine. That brings me back into the moment of appreciating how short and precious this time is and might even make me notice and enjoy them even more.
DD's face when you walk in to wake her up. She looks at you with this big grin that takes up her whole face, as if to say "hey, you came back!" Melts my heart.
I wasn't able to BF but when I hold DS to my upper body if I am wearing a V-neck or lower-cut shirt he will lick me and make a unh unh noise. It's really cute. My SIL says it is a way he soothes and he likes the salt from my skin. Either way it's cute. Also, when I'm holding him sometimes he will wrap his other arm around my neck and squeeze so it feels like he is giving me a hug. I say "aww, Mommy loves you too" and hug/squeeze him back.
Being a Mom is the hardest and best thing I have EVER done in my life.
Second the moments when he looks up at me while BF with the biggest smile and giggle. LO and I were out of town for a week visiting my family and on our way home I was showing him pics on my phone of DH to make sure he didn't forget him. No need to worry about that. LO was smiling and laughing with every new pic! Melted. My. Heart.
I love when she stops nursing and smiles at me. It warms my heart so much when I come home after a long day of work and DD will not take her eyes off of me. When I look back and interact, she gets the biggest smile. Its like she is excited I came.home finally.
These are all so sweet! DS gives me the biggest grin when I unbuckle his swing or car seat. I'm sure he just sees my face and doesn't realize I'm picking him up, but it is the cutest.
He also sometimes does this shy smile where he turns his face to the side and looks at my out of the corners of his eye, to see if I'm looking at his cute little face. He is so coy and such a flirt already!
My LO has started pulling herself closer to me, like she's hugging me. I'll be making stupid noises or tickling her and she'll laugh and then grab me and cuddle up closer. It kills me every time!
I love when we put put the girls facing each other in their boppies and they smile and squeal and chat excitedly when they realize their sissy is there. One night V was crying and S was really upset by it. We held them next to each other and S reached out and put her hand on V and V stopped crying. Fluke? Probably. Adorable as f#ck, yes.
Nothing beats coming home at the end of a day though and having them both look at me and laugh and smile and kick their little legs in the air. Or the baby snuggles when they cradle their head on your shoulder... Ahh I just love it all!
My 8 year daughter wrote Lucas a letter about how much she loves him and how he's the best thing to ever happen. Considering the fact that Dh and I were worried about how she'd handle being a big sister, we were seriously moved.
Oh and definitely Lucas unlatching and smiling at me. Melts my heart.
DS1 will break into song when DS2 starts to fuss when we're in the car. Usually it's a mix of twinkle twinkle little star and let it go... Pretty much makes my day every time!!
AJ got a fit of the giggles last night for the fist time ever. He loves to stand up now so I was holding him standing up and he burps...three times in a row that I swear sounded like a frat boy trying to burp the ABC's or something. I got tickled and started laughing. He looked at me grinned and started laughing too. I'd stop laughing, he'd stop. I'd start he'd start. Back and forth we went with huge grins in between the laughs for about 2-3 minutes. This is now one of my happiest Mom moments.

Can I just say that I love this thread? These are some really cute stories ladies - definitely made my long day at work away from DS a little better
