exhaustion ...

Obviously we're all exhausted but I was wondering if anyone else is feeling completely exhausted all the time?

The first few weeks with DD I was FTM tired. When I went back to work (full-time) at the end of August I felt surprisingly well rested most days. The past few weeks I've gone downhill. I'm totally exhausted, I feel like a zombie at work, I can't wait till DD is down so I can pass out. Anyone else feeling similar?

Re: exhaustion ...

  • Also I'm EBF and DH works nights so I'm always on night duty (but that's been since day 1)

  • Are you pregnant?

  • Ahhh I'm gonna go with no lol! I had an IUD put in at my 6 week PP checkup. We didn't have sex till around week 9-10 PP (they said to wait 10 days after IUD is put in place). I'm also EBF so that lowers the likelihood.
  • Yeah that's on my list of things to do! I'm wondering if when I first was back to work if I was still riding the baby high!
  • Maybe this will be helpful, maybe not but I was feeling run down for a while even though I felt like things were going well and I was getting enough rest. Turns out I've been fighting an infection and was totally unaware. Wish I would have caught it earlier but I had no other signs beside feeling overly tired.

Just in case that might be it for you. Off course it took blood work and urine test to find this out.
  • Was your infection birth/baby related?
  • Yup, due to the baby/birth. And everything went very well. Vaginal with no tearing or any other complications, so that doesn't necessarily mean anything. Hope you figure this out!
  • Have your iron levels checked!

  • I was feeLing the same way. I was so exhausted I almost felt drunk. I moved my bed time up, started my vitamin regimen back up, upped my protein and started taking more iron. It's definitely helped.

  • I'm feeling exhausted but I know it's sleep deprivation related. My allergies are so bad right now it takes a while for things to settle si I can sleep. Then about that time LO is hungry. I can't seem to get all the stuff done I need to at night so I can't get to bed earlier.

  • I'm sure its my iron. I've always had low iron issues. I've been bad and haven't taken it since I was 4weeks PP. I need to get back on the bandwagon!
  • You could check into your thyroid levels, low energy and being tired is a symptom of an under active thyroid.
