Breastfeeding

Which pump

Hi,

I'll be a mom again come June (so really just pregnant), but I'm going to try breastfeeding/pumping again. I was less than successful after receiving really bad advice and then developing mastitis (twice). Anyway my insurance will cover the Medela Personal pump and then Amedia Purely Yours pump.I used a Medela pump after my first preganancy and it was painful, but that could have been because of my issues and the bad advice I got.

Looking for pros and cons (positive and negative) experiences with both of these pumps so I can make a fully informed decision.

TIA!

Re: Which pump

  • Agree with @casey78 on both the pump recommendation and the pain problem.

I have the exact Medela pump your insurance offers and it's working great.  The bag is hideous but it's not an issue for me.  There were way too many parts to the Ameda Purely Yours... I just couldn't imagine myself taking everything apart and washing them on a daily basis.  GL!

  • Medela all the way! I have a Medela Pump in Style we got last year and a really old Medela PIS that we got from a friend. I keep the new one at work and the old one at home for those random times I need it. They both work great! Highly recommend the brand.
