Re: Anyone else..?

  • Poor mommy! Keep your head up! Have you considered looking for a new job? I know that's not much fun if you basically just started this job, but if you hate it and the boss, is it worth "sticking it out"?

I don't HATE my job, but I certainly wouldn't have it if it wasn't for the money. I have a Bachelor's degree in exercise science, but I work as a secretary for barely over minimum wage. Frustrating as heck, but when DH wants to live in a small town in Nebraska I have no other choice.

  • My boss actually retires august of next year, so I'm hoping to stick it out til then. It's a federal job, so it'll be great in the long run. It's just hard right now, especially to leave my sweet girl everyday to come to a place that I'm miserable! I had a job as a teller at a bank barely making minimum wage before I landed this one, but I absolutely loved it! I make 3 times as much here, but you can't have it both ways I suppose. Maybe this should've been a first world problems post? lol
I'm in the exact same boat you are...fed job, waiting for evils to retire. I also would love to stay home with LO, but the benefits make it worth sticking it out. Of course, it doesn't feel worth while right now. Unfortunately, I see how difficult hiring has become, so if I opted to go part time or leave now, I'd be worried I wouldn't be able to return to my current status. You are not alone!
  • I'm right there with you and I liked my job before. This is my second week back and its not getting any easier. I really wish my hubby would let me stay home with my little guy!
  • I love my job, but it's hard to not be able to get all my work done. I teach elementary school, and though a lot of people don't know it, we spend SO MUCH time after and before school and on the weekends, and even then we aren't caught up. Now with the baby, I just have to walk away from the unfinished work...send it keeps piling up. I feel so overwhelmed. I miss my baby all day. Hopefully I'll somehow find a groove, but I just don't know how I'll ever be a good mama, wife AND teacher..
  • I love my job but don't think I'll be able to go back. It's over an hour commute and that's too far with LO. We live in the suburbs and there's not too many jobs let alone something in my field so I'll just have to take what I can get. It will be a cut in pay but unfortunately we can't afford for me to stay at home.
  • In sorry! I feel your pain though. At my last job, I got a new manager. She was awful.
