A+A swaddling

Are these muslin swaddling blankets worth the price?? I keep going back and forth on whether I want to splurg on them. Since this is our second girl (both January girls as well) we do not need to buy very much anyways so thinking of splurging on a few items. Also was thinking of getting one of those blossom flower bath things where you can give baby bath in the sink any one have experience with these? Tia :)

Re: A+A swaddling

  • Loved the A+A blankets with DS! I have the Target ones (which are slightly less expensive and thinner than the boutique ones). Perfect size for swaddling and they seem to get softer each time you wash them. I also received a set of JC Penney brand muslin blankets at my shower for him, but I never liked them as much...

  • Good to know ya iv been looking at the 47x47 off of amazon I think the bigger ones will help me since I never swaddled our first daughter. Good info to know how small are the ones from target?
  • I LOVE my A+A swaddling blankets! They are wonderful in the summer time because they are so thin. They also make great shade covers for strollers. I personally think it's worth the money to buy one four pack- that's all you really need IMO.

  • I love mine! They are nice and big and grow with the baby. We also had the smaller kind and I had to stop using them at a certain point. E still has her a+a blanket! I am just buying a few more "boy" ones becuase they last so long!

I'm not needing anything this time. I plan to splurge on a few things that I want. The A & A swaddle blankets are so so nice! I have some from BRU. They are not soft, so I'd like to get the 'boutique' quality ones, along with a dream blanket.

As far as those flower baths. ...I personally wouldn't buy one. I would hate the dry time on them, and where would you store it while it's soaking wet? They remind me of those bath toys that just get ruined because they never get dry, and just grow mold.

If you want a bath for the sink I HIGHLY recommend the puj tub. I have one, and love it! They dry so fast, in fact you can dry with a towel and store away quickly. I hang it behind the door in the bathroom on a hook.
They are pricy, but I feel so so worth it. My son used it until he was about 7 or 8 months, and only because then I started putting him in the regular tub.

Wish they would have had the puj tub years ago, because those big plastic tubs are terrible. (In my opinion and experience. )

    Target website says 44x44.

Also, my little guy won't sleep without these now.

Just a tiny square (14x14) of the A+A muslin fabric with silk around the edges, but he loves it.

  • Love these blankets, they are big enough to swaddle an older baby and thin enough not to worry about smothering if they pull it over their face. Nice and soft.

  • Good to know never heard of the puj tub looks like that would work a lot better! I agree I hated the plastic tub I had for daughter it had a sling type thing that got pretty gross looking! Thanks again and looks as though my next amazon order will be the b-jewled a+a blankets and puj tub. :)

I love the A & A swaddles and it was my favorite shower gift last time (and my favorite gift to give now).

I recently found these on Amazon for much cheaper and they're bigger than A & A. Mine are already in and the quality seems as good as A & A for cheaper. Plus I really like the prints!!

ETA: I got a set of these that are Summer Infant brand as was not as impressed by the quality and they were small so I sent them back.

I also got some muslin swaddle blankets from Carters that have foxes on them when they were on sale a while back and those are really nice too... If you can't tell I'm a little obsessed with swaddle blankets!

  • I love those blankets! Dd hated being swaddled, but we still used them all the time. They're great when you're out and about because they don't take up a ton of room, and they wash really nicely.

  • I agree with PPs - the A+A swaddle blankets are so soft, good for swaddling, as a light blanket, burp cloth, car seat cover (strangers, keep your grubby hands off my baby!), nursing cover, etc.

Plus the patterns are freakin cute.
  • Love a+a blankets! Ds is 3 and those are like his loveys now. He drags them around everywhere and wont sleep with out them. I bought them for a few friends/cousins when they had the second kid and everyone loved them. Its on list to get.

As for the flower bath I wad thinking about getting that one or the puij (sp?) One.
  • They were 100% worth it for us. We much preferred them over the swaddle outfits. We are going to use them again for this LO.

  • Just wondering how many swaddle blankets everyone is putting on their registry? Would two packs of 4 be enough to start off with?

  • yes so worth it! We have used ours for several different purposes too. Like draping over the carrier, covering up with in the carseat or stroller as they get older. You may be able to get some at a resale shop to save? Another awesome thing we loved was the zippy sack to transition out of the swaddle. Our LO still sleeps in it and loves it.

I think this would be more than enough. We had one 4 pack for DS and that was perfect for us. I was a SAHM so it was easy just to wash every few days. I am getting another 4 pack to add to our stash for this LO since I work part time now and do laundry less. Another reason to love these, they hold up really well to use. The ones from DS are still in good condition.

We had one pack of 4, and that was enough for us with DS. I also did laundry pretty frequently, and people gave us other blankets that we didn't register for (some were homemade, and of course we were really grateful for all of them), so the A+A ones weren't the only ones we had.
  • They were great for swaddling once DS could bust out of the swaddlemes. It's a nice blanket to keep in your diaper bag to lay down on the ground or to use as a nursing cover. They also work well to cover the car seat or use as a sun cover in a stroller. We had a pack of 4 from babies r us and DS still uses them as his daycare blanket / snuggle blanket at home. We're buying a new set for this baby, definitely worth it.

  • I say register for them and if you get them great, if you don't oh well.

  • Also, not all babies like to be swaddled...

  • I only had a pack of 4 and it was enough for us.

I also agree, some babies don't like to be swaddled. My lo didn't. He was only swaddled in the hospital, after that we never did it.

I used them for a light blanket at night. He was born in June, in Texas... so it was hot!!

I used them for nursing, burping, cover from the sun in the carseat, blanket for going out (again Texas in summer. It won't be enough to keep these babies warm though.)

  • I love these! I have a bunch from dd and bought some for this baby. Dd is 2.5 and still sleeps with one every night. She has one at daycare and I always have one in the bag just in case. They were great to cover her infant seat in, or as a nursing cover.

  • My son has a 4 pack and at 15 months still loves cuddling them to sleep. So we got another 4 pack for our little girl coming soon, seeing as DS probably won't be sharing his. Get the big ones of you can, they are so worth it. I have both and the big ones are way nicer
