  • All good things, we cosleep so I don't need a monitor, she has toys in her DB already which is why I didn't put it on, I'll be wearing the Tula, & I didn't add more PJs because sometimes she just sleeps in her onesie from the day and M RARELY needs to be changed more than once a day.

  • I would bring more diapers, one extra outfit, snacks, and some more toys on the plane. Just to be safe ;)

    My horror story of flying:
On the way to CA, she pooped 3 times on a 5 hour flight (she normally only poops 1-2 times/day). On the way back, I brought her into the bathroom to change her diaper, and she peed after I got the diaper off! I can count the number of times she had done this her entire life on one hand. It went EVERYWHERE! I'm talking itty-bitty changing table, walls, floor all covered. So yeah, extra outfits ;)

(Really it wasn't that bad, but there were some interesting moments)

I also take our monitor on trips.

I didn't see where you are staying, but what about sleeping? Pack n play? For eating: spoons? High chair? (I have one that attaches to a table, and that's been a lifesaver when traveling - I can look it up when I get to a computer if you want) I also like "nursery wipes" for wiping down plane seats and anywhere she'll be touching a lot where I don't trust the cleanliness.
  • M still sleeps with us and we're staying at a kid friendly B&B, so highchair & sleeper not needed. But I'll definitely be packing an extra outfit in the DB.

  • Make sure you have a change of clothes for you and DH in your carry on. I didn't know DD gets airsick until we flew. Have a great time!
  • I packed a shirt for both DH and I in our carry on just in case, we flew last week. Thankfully we didn't need them.

I have seen other cosleep parents say this re: monitors. I'm curious (bc I use mine a lot) 1) what do you do when she naps and you're in another room and 2) does that mean she goes to bed the same time as you?

I have a friend on her 3rd kid and she's never used a monitor. I've always wondered how. Sorry for my dumb questions in your thread. :)

  • Pack toys that LO hasn't seen before. It helps keep the excitement longer if it's new.

Also, bring more diapers and food (solids) than you need, in case of delays.
Can't figure out the signature thing, so here's the short, short version.....first daughter born on November 10, 2013. She was conceived through the magic of IVF after 2+ years of TTC.
  • The weather here is cray cray. I have the heat on one minute and the air conditioning the next. Everything from 60-80 degrees right now during the day. Ugh
But I think you said you are going to the mountains of NC so probably chilly there.
  • @kfran84 I'm still napping with M or whoever is with her. And yes she goes to bed at the same time as my husband and I. I probably won't get a monitor when she moves over either because her room is so close to ours that if she cried I would here it or I could just peek in on her.

@mum2be28 I'm going to Asheville is that cooler than where you are? I'm freaking on how to dress because it's still hot as hell here.
