Wrap recommendations/Ergo question

I have an Ergo but would like to get a wrap too. Would you recommend a moby or k'tan or something else?
Also, I put my 10 week old in the ergo with the insert and although his head isn't going back it was falling forward quite a bit. He kept head butting me. Is this typical or am I doing something wrong?

Re: Wrap recommendations/Ergo question

  • I like the Moby and also have an Ergo. I think they both have their place. There's a little bit of a learning curve with the MOBY but once you are used to it it's great. When I go out somewhere I just tie it on ahead of time at home. I use the Moby for now but I am sure I will return to the Ergo when he is a little bit bigger.

  • How much does your LO weigh? After about 15 lbs stretchy wraps (moby and ktan, etc) aren't super supportive anymore, so comfort is lacking. I would recommend a good woven wrap if you want something to use for the long haul, you can also eventually learn to do side and back carries with them, unlike a stretchy wrap. Bb slen, and storchenweigen are both on the more inexpensive side as far as Wovens go, but they are still about the price of a new ergo.

  • I have a k'tan, and like it a lot.  I haven't used anything else, so I cannot compare it to another wrap or carrier, but I feel it is easy to put on, not bulky and quite comfortable for mom and baby.  I also like that it fits easily in the diaper bag, but I guess most wraps do!

He's 10lb 8 oz right now. I'll check out the other ones you mentioned. Thanks!
  • I'd get a woven wrap. It lasts so much longer. I have a Little Frog and love it.

  • I love my K'Tan... But I bought it for the newborn stage. Now that LO is 12 lbs with solid head control, I almost exclusively use the Ergo

  • Go for a woven, our moby was good at first but it's stretches out too much after I place 10lb LO on it. Very annoying. I'm hoping to get a Tula first, then a woven. LO likes to be worn.
  • I have and infantino and I love it as does LO. It has 4 wearing options and so far I've only used one but it's working great for us.
