Molluscum contagiosum

Has anyone dealt with this?? My two year old has it, I think he has had it his entire life. It started with what appeared to be a skin tag when he was very tiny and has spread over the past year. It's in his underarms and groin. A few became infected and the doctor gave us antibiotic cream and oral antibiotics. The cream seems to work temporarily and I think I'm going to give him the oral meds next. He has a particularly bad one inside of his arm that looks awful. I'm bringing him in Friday to see if doctor can pop it or remove it. I would appreciate any advice on how to handle this, it's gross :(

    Thank you I never thought about the towels being an issue! I wash my a lot because I'm a massage therapist and cannot risk getting this on my hands

    DS is 4 and has been dealing with this since early summer. It is a huge PITA, but so far it is only on him and has not spread to anyone else in the family
