I'm doing well in general, I'm happy to report. I have some aches and some insomnia, but I'm managing just fine. I am starting to poke out quite a bit and I'm afraid I might have waited too long to buy maternity clothes! I think there are 5 things that I can wear right now.. lol. LO has been pretty active the past couple of days and we just found out he is negative for Spina Bifida, thankfully.
I am sure you already know this, but the pony tail holder through the button hole was a life saver for my pants. I also bought one size up before going to maternity. That gave me a few things I could wear after delivery.
Hi all! I had my first OB visit on Friday, and everything looks good so far - the bean is in the right place and has a heartbeat. I am 7 weeks. They drew what felt like a million gallons of blood, and all of those tests came back normal as well. I am thankfully feeling fine - no MS (knock on wood), just some occasional cramping. Also, I cannot. stop. eating. Need. more. food.
Still battling severe morning sickness, but holding up the best I can. Tried Zofran and Reglan, but both made me more ill...so yeah...just going to tough it out.
I had my first midwife appt last Thursday, and it went great. LOVED her! (was with an OB with my other children)
My first u/s is next Wednesday, so FX all goes well!
Hi ladies,
33 weeks tomorrow!!! The girls are doing just fine from today's non-stress test. 4-5 weeks to go. I'm tired and uncomfortable but I know I'm doing well for an old lady carrying twins!

Hey everyone I hope you are all well! I'm doing all right, 18 weeks today... seemed like things were moving so slowly and now almost halfway! Very exciting! I'm feeling pretty good the past few days, most of my symptoms have eased up some, still have the RLP on active days and still tired. I was feeling a lot of flutters/bubbles about 2 weeks ago and then they just stopped, so I've been a bit nervous... but OB says the uterus is expanding and baby has more room and I won't feel him again until maybe 20 weeks or so... it's quite nerve-wracking! Just trying to stay positive! Next week is my anatomy scan, so I am looking forward to that very much!

Hi Ladies - I am now 25 weeks, 4 days! The end of the 2nd tri is getting close! It is definitely feeling very real now! Our little one's kicks are getting stronger by the day - which is exciting except when he/she decides it's time to party when I am asleep!
We ordered our nursery furniture this weekend, and bought the stroller and bassinet yesterday. I ordered a bunch of paint sample/swatches today so we can decide on a color and get the nursery painted. And now I am starting to look at all the smaller items - which we will put on a registry. (we are not having a shower for a whole host of reasons, but family and friends keep asking what we want so we are registering so if they ask we can direct them to it - and we will get the completion discount.)
@mdogan29 Still tired at 18 weeks? Say it ain't so! I was hoping for a light at the end of the tunnel. The anatomy scan will be super exciting. Do you know what they actually do and how much detail you get to see?
@ewenner I felt the same way about all the blood they took. 12 vials!!! But the nurse was a wonderful lady - full of wisdom about life, love and moving on; who would know a blood draw could turn into a spiritual experience. I hope you had some sort of perk to make up for all the vials!!
HI all,
I continue to be mostly in disbelief, but am approaching 10 weeks. The bloat is getting better but I am SUPER tired and my immune system is definitely not what it used to be. I left work early today because I just couldn't function. The fatigue feels like having the flu, along with jet lag.
Otherwise, I'm going to see a genetic counselor tomorrow. I'm leaning toward going straight to CVS and skipping the non-invasive screens, because the chance of any abnormality at our *ideal* (!) age is 1 in 100, while the risk from the test is closer to 1 in 300 at my facility, and we really want the peace of mind (or to know what is going on, if something isn't quite right).
I didn't realize one can test embryos before implantation with IVF - that seems like a big perk of the procedure!
All in all, I'm finding the first trimester to be emotionally and physically taxing, but not impossible to deal with.
Wishing you all a lovely weekend, with some good wine and better company!
hey @marijaa333! Yes, still tired, but I think it's my thyroid that's causing the problem, too many Reverse T3s blocking all my energy! I have actually felt better the past 2 days! I've completed a few projects that I had been slacking on!
Hmmm, I'm not sure, I think it's like a super ultrasound, where they take a lot of measurements of the baby and specific body parts to make sure things are the right size and shape for the gestational age. I just did a google search, looks like they also check the amniotic fluid level and also re-check heart rate and the location of the placenta. It's also called a level 2 ultrasound. But I think I'll get a new photo of the baby too, which will be great, haven't seen him since 10 week appt!
Good luck with your appts - can't wait to hear about the results!

@URMySunshine77 I ended up going with a clinic where the OB was automatically assigned. It's super close to work and affiliated with the biggest teaching hospital, so those were the main reasons for the choice!

@marijaa333: I don't blame you for choosing convenience!

So exciting to see some of you mamas finally get your BFPs!
We just hit 37 weeks yesterday - I seriously can't even believe it. Midwife was guesstimating baby's weight at ~5 to 5.5 lbs on Monday, so she seems a little small. We're all set up for the homebirth and hoping everything goes as planned. I've passed my GBS testing, and my iron levels are finally normal again, so I can rest on those two fronts.
Getting so anxious to meet this little girl. I hear she will be a joyful, calm and happy human, which sounds a lot like her dad.
