Do I have enough clothes?

This is what I have so far for the early months.  Do I need more??

Newborn : 5 sleepers, 2 long sleeve onsies, 4pants

0-3m: 6 long sleeve onsies-4short sleeve, 6 sleepers,  6pants,

3-6m: 2 long sleeve outfits, 2 long sleeve onsises, 3pants, 1 tshirt, 1jacket, some summer outfits   (probably need some sleepers and onsies)

How many wash clothes/towels do you use?

Re: Do I have enough clothes?

  • I would invest in more NB onesies...I had to go buy a bunch because the dr's kept saying DD would be big...she was 8lb 2oz, which I would consider on the bigger side, but she was still in only NB clothes until she was 2 months old.

I have four hooded towels and maybe 10 wash cloths.  We give DD a bath every night now though, so we use one every day.

  • I would buy more sleepers and onsies.  We go through a ton of those because she poops/pees/pukes on them.  I really like the onsies that have the hand covers on them.  We have a few pairs of the mittens ( I recommend getting these).  She scratches her face up right now if we don't keep her hands covered.

  • We go through a lot of clothes because of reflux, so it is definitely not enough for us.  We gave away a lot of 0-3 month clothes, and I really regret it now.
  • You can never have too many washclothes and towels and receiving blankets. I would buy some more sleepers.THey are the easiest to put them in during the first few weeks (since they don't want anything over their heads).  I would also invest in Kimono t-shirts for the first few weeks, easy to put on and off and to change diapers at night. My guy was 8 lbs 12 oz so he didn't fit in any NB stuff. I would only buy 0-3.
  • Also, we put onesies under his clothes to layer in the cold, so I would say each day I go through at least 3 onesies (sometimes long-sleeved, sometimes short) and three footie onesies of some kind.  We also don't use pants as much.  K was in NB for 6 weeks before 0-3 fit.
  • for sure I think you'll need more for the first 6 months. ?if you go to ebay and type in "baby boys clothes" (or girl) up will pop a ton of Mom's wanting to sell really great baby clothes. ?I found one lot of clothes for NB - 6 months and it was nice stuff from carters, burp towels and blankets. ?I would say $400 worth of stuff that I got for $15!!! ?some good deals on baby clothing!!

I have about a dozen wash cloths, 20 bibs and 3 bath robe towels for baby. ?
