We had LOs party this past Saturday and his actually bday isn't until the 20th. On his actually birthday we plan on just making dinner like normal and getting an ice cream cake for dessert. We aren't going to invite anyone over so it will just be the four of us. We will sing him happy birthday, blow out candles and take some pics, nothing to crazy. We've done this for all 3 of ds1's bdays and it's worked out well. We like having the special family time and not sharing it with anyone else.
LO's was on a Friday, so DH and I took the day off and took her to the aquarium. We ate out for lunch, came home and we all took naps, and then some party prep that evening (her party was the next day).
We did a bunch of her favorite things. We played outside in the grass with the dog, ate her favorite foods and DH came home from work early and went with us to the park. She loves the swings and the slide. She also ate her first cupcake and my parents got into town in time for dinner and dessert.
DS's party is Saturday but his birthday is next Wednesday. On Wednesday I have to work, then DH and I are going out on a date. Soooo, we are doing nothing with DS...

Dd's birthday is on Friday. Dh and I are taking off work and we're planning to go to the zoo. We already had dd's party a couple weeks ago because MIL was going in for surgery and we didn't want to risk her missing it. It worked out well because now we can relax and enjoy the day with the party already over and done
truth? I went food shopping for the party as fast as possible so I could then get manicure and sushi dinner alone with a glass of wine. I mean c'mon its my "birth"day right?
His birthday was on a Wed and the party was that Sat after. We did cupcakes with my niece that afternoon (we keep her on Wed) and then had dinner with my mom that night. We also did FaceTime with my dad that night. We had more cupcakes after dinner (none for LO this time) and gave DS 2 presents. We still had some presents for his party so it wasn't a big deal for him to get 2.
I had a nice dinner with my husband and baby, baked a funfetti cake, then watched the Royals play in game 3 of the ALCS.
Oh wait, no. Instead, my H forgot to get eggs for the cake mix, told me at 5:30 he got last minute tix to the game, and then I found out ants had invaded my pantry and taco shells and ruined my dinner. So I sat home alone, ate probably ant-infested tacos and had no cake.
@sleep33 that sucks! You need a so-over for that night.
Today is LOs bday. They have HFM and I have a cold so we're just trying to survive. Luckily it's unseasonably warm so we'll spend some time outside and I informed DH that he needed to come home early this afternoon to spend time with the girls (aka help me out bc we're all sick) He said "yes ma'am". I think we're getting somewhere with him.
