helium balloons

So, I am getting about a dozen helium filled latex balloons and a couple foil balloons for decorations for LOs party. If I pick them up on Thursday, will they still be good on Saturday?  I know the foil ones will be file because they last awhile, but what about the regular latex balloons?  Its been awhile since I've had a helium balloon and I can't remember how long they last before they start drooping.

Re: helium balloons

  • My latex ones were half-deflated the next day in my yard.

  • When we get them (Only at the school fair) they only last about 24-36 hours before they are drooping. It depends on the size I think.

Do you have a Dollar Tree near you? Just get some of their foil balloons. I now use them for most party balloons because foil are all $1.

  • Not the latex ones. You need to do day of party.

  • Yea the lady at the party store told us they last 8-10hrs. Our party was Saturday and we still have about 8 that are floating just fine.

  • Crud.  That's what I was afraid of.  Well, I think we are going to get some catering from Wegmans, so I wonder if they do balloons.  DH can just pick them up when he goes to get the food.

  • We did foil and latex at DS's party. They lasted through the party and they were done the morning of. The foil ones lasted a few days. The latex lasted maybe 6 hours.
  • Most of our latex ones are still flying 3 days later.  I paid them 10 cents extra to put something in them to last longer.

  • If you get latex balloons with Hy-float solution in them they will last much longer. I'm a florist and we also do some helium balloons. I took latex balloons home with me on Saturday afternoon and I put Hy-float in them. It's Tuesday night and they don't look any different then when I brought them home. Flying high. You might pay more for quality latex balloons but they will last much longer. Dollar store balloons will not last. Goto a party store or florist and ask if they use hy-float.
Mylar/ foil balloons will last a long time as well.

@Sdeux‌ I think that's what we had because I put confetti in them and wanted it to stick to the sides. 15 cents extra a balloon!
