I was recently in the hospital for a week but am now home. I have my PICC and am on TPN, IV zofran and Reglan. I will be off work till at least the end of the month. With my last pregnancy my HG started at 6 weeks so I was so optimistic when I was feeling pretty good at that point this time. Then 8.5 weeks it hit hard.
How is everyone doing?
Re: HG ladies how are you doing?
I've been on a Zofran pump since my last hospitalization. Its "working" as I went from throwing up 15-20 times a day and unable to keep even water down to now being able to keep down jello, applesauce, and a few fluids. I'm still steadily losing weight, though. I'm down 20 pounds since 9/17. My stomach looks like a pin cushion with huge red welts/knots from all the injection sites, but its worth it to not throw up every time I take a sip of water.
I'm hoping and praying this ends soon. Have any of you had HG with previous pregnancies? If so, when did yours subside? I'm 14w now.
I had HG with my first pregnancy and it was bad until 14 weeks and then got better (was able to keep some food down, only throwing up 5 times a day, etc).
I'm much worse this time around. I've lost 30 pounds, been to the ER 15 times in 4 weeks and go in for outpatient fluids three times a week. I'm also on zofran and Reglan but nothing is helping. My doctor is pushing for a picc line but I'm scared for some reason! Can someone reassure me that it's not scary and worth it?
I hope everyone is has a good support system and is keeping positive, when possible. Sometimes I think the emotional/mental aspect is as bad as the physical pain (well, not exactly, physically I feel like I'm dying sometimes).
