This is a weekly thread for runners who were due June 2014, that is posted on Mondays . All who run--or who want to start running--are welcome, regardless of mileage, pace, ability, size, shape, or terrestrial status. We had this thread during pregnancy, now it's time to lose that baby weight. 

How were your runs and workouts this week?  

How do you feel your fitness is coming along post-baby? Anything surprise you?

  • How were your runs and workouts this week?  Sooo I only got one run in last week. :( It was 10 miles, so I guess that counts for something, but I wish I had gotten a couple short runs in during the week. Thank you, 4 month sleep regression, for coming early and screwing up everybody's schedule.

    How do you feel your fitness is coming along post-baby? Anything surprise you? SLOW. But in truth, my diet has been crap lately so I am working on that starting today and hopefully will see some progress soon (that is, if my kid ever sleeps long enough that I can get up and work out again).

    If you set a goal during last week's thread, how is it going? Any new goals this week? I did well with my plank challenge until the weekend. Now I'm playing catch up.

    Extra GTKY: What fall fitness activities do you plan on doing this year? Well, I'm running a half marathon on November 8th, but I'm also thinking about finding a Turkey Trot to do on Thanksgiving Day while we are on vacation with my family in Florida. Maybe I can even convince my cousins to do it with me...hmm...

  • Hi ladies - I wish I could join you all on this but I have only been able to get out a few times since LO was born! I was a marathoner pre baby, but am embarassed to say that I think my furthest run the past 6 months has been 3 miles, ugh!

    Can I ask how you all are making the time to run (especially if you are getting out for longer runs)? I work full time and when I get home from work all I want to do is snuggle my baby. Plus now is is getting dark out sooner which is seriously hurting my motivation! I have tried to go early in the morning, but full boobs = ouch :( I don't think I have the time to get up, pump, run, etc. all before I go into work!

    I miss running so much, but I must be aful at time management because I literally just don't know how I am going to get back at it with any regularity!

  • How were your runs and workouts this week?
    Completed one run, sadly, this is becoming my norm! My one run was for a few miles with my sister as she completed her first marathon, so that was awesome. I even managed under 830 pace, so I won't complain.

    How do you feel your fitness is coming along post-baby? Anything surprise you?
    Slowly! However not surprising given my half assed effort

    Maybe run twice :)

    Continuing with yoga; running when I can.
  • How were your runs and workouts this week?

    Almost nonexistent thanks to the 4-month sleep regression. Everyone in this house is exhausted, including DD! So no runs this week, but we went hiking today for the first time since she was born! She did great in the carrier! It was pretty tough for me towards the end, but it felt good overall! It was cool to take DD because the last time we hiked that trail was the day after I found out I was pregnant :)

    How do you feel your fitness is coming along post-baby? Anything surprise you?

    I thought it was going to be easier to find time to work out. My expectations were a little unrealistic. I thought I would be in better shape by now.

    Not meeting my goal so far.

    I'd like to hike a few more times before it gets too cold :)
  • @babygabe614 thanks for starting this this week. Swamped at work yesterday. 
    How were your runs and workouts this week?  none:( I am burried at work and get downstairs to the company gym to even run for 20 minutes. So depressing. Crossing my fingers for tomorrow. 

    How do you feel your fitness is coming along post-baby? Anything surprise you? horribly. keep trying to get out and run, but it's not happening. I am doing good on the plank challenge though! LOL! I have 3 people in my department doing it with me too:) I also had all kinds of plans to get back in shape, and they haven't panned out. LO is the priority and that's what's most important right now. I'll make time for myself eventually. 

    If you set a goal during last week's thread, how is it going? Any new goals this week? I did 45 sec of planks today, so far so good. Have not contributed to my mileage goal, but working on it! I have to up my water intake too. I'm slacking big time on it!

    Extra GTKY: What fall fitness activities do you plan on doing this year? DH and I are going to Phoenix this weekend for a pleasure/business trip. Going to hopefully go hike around the grand canyon on Sunday before my meeting starts Monday. ( all while I try not to think about missing LO the entire time :( )

    @frenchchocolate611 I'm in the same boat, minus the full boobs as I stopped BF at 3 weeks. I kick myself out of the office at 5, pick up LO at 6, and then once we get home I can't get myself back out. DH doesn't get home til 10 either. I am thinking once daylight savings kicks in I might try to do the early morning thing. We'll see. I'm right there with you though and just as frustrated:(
